u2songs | U2 Record Store Day Rumours: 2018 |
We are told by a reliable well connected source that U2 will be producing a 12-inch vinyl record for Record Store Day this year. It will be a single and we are told that “Lights of Home” is likely to be the featured song. We do not have any information on the exact track list, or the quantities that will be pressed at this time.

Of course they'd release a song that's actually a worthwhile single as a limited edition RSD thing.

Smart move if it's the version with strings, a fool's decision if not. The regular version sounds unfinished.

Great song, especially the BBC-version is absolutely fabulous.

It's about time to hear some fresh news. I don't mean news about vinyl reissues without extra material. Album is almost out of all the charts.

Do all of you guys mind that for the zillionth time today - I'm so psyched the boys are coming back to CT... 45 minute drive to arena - now that's living.....

So I talked to an old school buddy of mine who used to head security at this casino and I asked him why would an act like U2 play such a small arena and he said it doesn't have to do with ticket sales. Every year they allocate a large amount of money to get a big act in, he said they've done it in the past with Bruce, Prince, Coldplay.... They pay the band an exorbitant amount of money with the idea this will bring in more gamblers into the casino AND (I didn't think of this) possibly bring them back in future tours. Very interesting indeed....

That makes sense. It's like a loss leader...don't care about breaking even on ticket revenue because we'll get their gambling $. Know how to make money in a casino? Own one.
