For those interested (and I know a couple of you will be), I'm writing my essay now on "The book of Revelation as drama: interpretation from the perspective of Greco-Roman theatre".

When you're done, you must swing that by me. I'd quite like a read.

By the way, you going to be around tomorrow? I should be free at 11am rather than midday. Do need to see one or two lecturers ... not sure if that'll be at any point between 11am and 2pm yet or not.

Nah, my lectures have all finished and I'd much rather work on this essay, it's consuming my life at the moment.

Incidentally, I'm listening to UABRS now, and loving it.

Bloody hell, almost 2 years after the end of the Vertigo Tour, and there are still a couple of Vertigo shows on U2gigs' "latest shows" homepage list. I thought live was where you live, U2?

See you, Ian.

Ah, righto. I wasn't thinking I'd be coming in, but one of my subjects is having a bit of an exam revision session at 10am and I'm totally fucked since I've skipped almost all of its lectures lately, so I better go. Not sure what I'll do with the three dead hours ... if I don't meet with any of my lecturers, I may have just enough time to come home.

Red Rocks rules. Though have you listened to the commentary? You probably don't want to waste your time.

That was a good 34.5 minutes of UABRS goodness.

Oh Ax, how much do we owe Ali for both UABRS and SGV / when / where are we meeting on Friday?

If I'm not grossly mistaken, you owe Ali just under $60. Since I bought her a Crowded House ticket, she's the one actually paying off a debt to me right now, though.

Not sure what plans are for Friday ... should've asked Ali earlier at lunch. Hopefully she'll hop online soon.

I think that during the Annhilation Tour they'll try to play concerts on Edge's yacht, so live will actually sort of be where they live.

I think this deserves to be resurrected:

It's summer in the Northern Hemisphere. The days are long, the sun is out occasionally, and pasty Irishmen are doing their best whale impressions on the beach. This can mean only one thing: U2 are finally going to tour!

ANNHILATION TOUR: THE I <3 MY YACHT LEG

2009-05-30: Public rehearsal, Bono's beach house, Eze
2009-06-01: Port of Nice
2009-06-02: Port of Nice
2009-06-04: Marina in Antibes
2009-06-06: Marina in Cannes
2009-06-07: Guest appearance at the Cannes Film Festival before the debut showing of U2 3D II: Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein
2009-06-09: Bayside in Agay
2009-06-11: Port of Toulon
2009-06-12: Port of Toulon
2009-06-14: Port of Marseille
2009-06-15: Port of Marseille
2009-06-17: Harbour of Martigues
2009-06-19: Etang de Perols, near Montpellier
2009-06-20: Beachside at Sete
2009-06-22: Up the River Herault in central Agde
Edge's beloved yacht then gets stranded in the Herault. U2, unfazed, buy much wine from a riverside bottleshop and toast their successful world tour.

I love it how the Annhilation Tour has evolved over the year.

We've gotta pray that new technology comes out allowing yachts to fly or something, just so they can play the Kunstmuseum.

FUCKING FANTASTIC.

And they don't go to America ONCE!

U-Wen, I put this together a couple of threads ago - an Annhilation Tour itinerary to put on a shirt. Most of the dates reference either Superthread milestones or Superthread founders/Kunstmuseum planners.

2008-05-22, Whorehouse Meadow, Oregon
2008-06-24, Gay and Lesbian Kingdom of the Coral Sea Islands
2008-06-26, Vaduz, Liechtenstein
2008-08-15, Canada Road, Memphis
2008-08-21, Museum Voor Oude Kunst, Brussels
2008-09-07, 41°42′34″N 86°53′13″W

So good. Yes, Rapelaide. Although somewhere on Yorke Peninsula would be nice. Don't forget, the lady who inspired Bono to do all his charity work back in the mid eighties is from fucking Yorkes, man. I've probably met her.

Was Cape Catastrophe on Yorke Peninsula? Or Eyre? I can't remember now. And Rapelaide's probably better anyway. I was thinking of making the specific venue your favourite pub, until I realised that I have no idea if you even have a favourite pub, let alone what it's called if you do.

The Belgian Beer Cafe, or the Elephant, or Supermild, or maybe even Shenanigans at Marion. One of those is an Irish pub, too. You'd probably think I'd choose a Latvian or Togolese one, but no dice.

Cape Catastrophe is on Eyre, but Corny Point is on Yorkes.

Hey GG2!

... since when were open book exams hard? The only hard part is not falling asleep!

Because the man asks things nobody knows, and which aren't to be found in the book. :| He's just impossible!

 Another fly by post, gonna buy my books in 10 minutes and then heading home.

Yeah, I suppose I should have said "sexualised drool about a bunch of nasty old fossils".

Drool over the band's music is more tolerable. Mildly.

In EYKIW it's more drool as in drool from a mean barking dog's mouth. As soon as you insult the holy band they drool over your pants and prepare to bite you.

Sounds kinda odd they go to liechtenstein, then fly over half the world and return to liechtenstein again eh? Perhaps they can do Vaduz after the Kunstmuseum?

I'm tempted to make up a Togolese one now ...

Corny Point is kind of corny.

Poor U2, they need guard dogs!

Oh, but that's part of the point - a completely improbable schedule. All of the dates referencing threads are on the dates the thread happened, while all of the dates referencing people are on their birthdays. The exceptions are the BC Place and Venus gigs, which take place on the dates given in the former Wikipedia article on the Annhilation Tour (they were the only dates it gave).

*hops*

I'm paying for my ticket in food, beer, and apple cider.
