Macfistowannabe
Rock n' Roll Doggie Band-aid
Theory One:
It refers to Steve Lillywhite producing their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and fourteenth albums.
Theory Two:
It symbolizes the impatience and confusion of the singer. He's in veritgo, where everything is distorted and out of alignment. The numbers don't follow their normal order, nor does he see light or dark, nor does he hear anything that sounds like sense. He can't stand the beat, he's asking for the check. He can't stand the beat means he's confused and upset, the impatience is seen when he's asking for the check. Same thing can be applied to the opening lines.
Theory Three
Unos" is Latin for "about", "dos" refers to the 2nd book of the Bible - Exodus, and 3,14 is the chapter and verse. Bono begins by saying this album is "About Exodus 3:14" - "God said to Moses, "I am who I am."
The album also ends with "Yahweh." Everything begins and ends with "I am."
Theory Four
The "one, two, three, fourteen" stands for this: 14 - 3 = 11 (the number of tracks on the US release). Also, Uno starts with U and dos = 2 thus symbolizing U2.
Plus this: 14 stands for 14 years ago when Boy was released.
