Can anybody say anything about the time when Zooropa was released. Was there more certainty than now or was there also a lot of speculation and then a surprise release?

I remember my older brother's friend telling me about a month or so before Zooropa came out; he gave me the article from a newspaper. I was so excited!

Then again, I also remember hearing vaguely that The Cure's album would come out in October 1995 and then constantly going to the music shop every few weeks to see if it arrived. It eventually came out in May 1996. What a waste of time! Thank goodness for the internet, when I think of that.

Wow I remember those days... having just a vague idea that a new record was coming but having no idea when it would arrive and checking stores constantly. At least it got me out of the house though, now I check here constantly for news of a new record.
