Oh, I love both those songs. There's plenty of other songs that could be honorable mentions too. Streets and With or Without You get played constantly on the radio, so I probably just take those songs for granted.

Well, in the Summer of '97, I listened to Pop non stop. For a good year and a half, I OD'ed on it, so I'll always have fond memories of that album regardless. It seems to be a polarizing album for U2 fans. Obviously, we've beaten the Pop debate to death in previous discussions here. But, after Pop was out for a while, Gone became one of my "new" favorite U2 songs. I think I've listened to Bass Trap ten times in my life.

First of all that is a crazy task. The top ten keeps changing for me, there are two or three staples, but the rest flit in and out. As of october 31, 2015, my top ten are:

* still new so can't commit to it as an all-timer, but it is getting a lot of spins currently.

It really is a beautiful track, isn't it?

I don't pay any attention to live U2 anymore, but based on a couple of TV performances I saw of this song, it doesn't sound nearly as good live as the sublime studio cut.

Still, I have a feeling this will go down the best U2 song post-'Beautiful Day'.
