They are gorgeous. I really need to plant some flowers. All I have is trees and grass/weeds, and one lily in the backyard.

I have small children. Gardenings difficult with babies. I can surf the web and breastfeed but not garden. lol.

oh yes, that's a problem.

when i was a little kid i LOVED to carry my mom's flowers from the windowsill in our living room to the compost . no, i didn't throw the flowers into the compost , just put them in front of it .

I grew up in the desert so my mother didn't have flowers in the garden. There was no excess water to use for gardening.

Yep, spinifex, sharp as all hell though. We didn't have them near our house.

There are desert flowers as well but you can't really cultivate them. They grew where they want to and not where you want them to grow. lol.

I've never been to Europe let along Germany but I imagine Australia is completely different.

yes, europe is completely different (from what i've read, from photos and tv...)! especially the landscape looks very different!

i've seen some postings of rono, but nothing more... am sure he'll like this thread.

Ghost Gum blossoms

A Ghost Gum is a eucalyptus tree. It's funny the things that are taken for granted. Growing up, one of the most popular childrens books in Australia was Snugglepot and Cuddlepie by May Gibbs. The characters are blossom babies. In the wallpaper in this website:

the characters are visible.

If I find a better image I will post it. Its a classic childrens story here. You would probably like the images - lots of flowers.

i only know the story of "blinky bill" . btw: am writing a work about koalas and euclyptus trees for school

lol. Blinky Bill is about the same era. He was a bit more for boys though. Snugglepot and Cuddlepie are more for girls.

Heres some useless triva for you. We don't have koalas on this side of the Nullarbor. Koalas can't cross the Nullarbor, because its well, null arbor. They need trees.

We have eucalyptus tree in Perth but no native koalas.
