The OC....!!!!
No, not our very own lowercase beegee (I like her too but I'm not ashamed to admit that).

I'm talking the Saturday Night Fever, Jive Talking, Fanny Be Tender singing Brothers Gibb.

I hide their greatest hits CD in my secret CD case along with Justin and X-tina and Journey's Greatest Hits so no one will know I have a dark side that loves really crappy music.

Please don't shun me :reject:

i'm sorry, i will never be able to have any respect for you now.

;) just kidding.

but yeah...they um...sort of....ok, really....suck...

apparently it means the same in every country were they are taught "brittish" english

the beegees scare me even more now :mad:

:hug: BAW

I like the BeeGees too. They had some great fun tunes. And man could they sing!

This smiley is singing "Staying alIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIve" ---> :lol:

well, I never really liked the bee gees
though that "to love somebody" song is really good (when covered by others :D )
but now I am intrigued by this fanny song :hmm:

I have the greatest hits cd in my room - should I be ashamed too?? :der: :shrug: I have got worse cd's than that in my room which Im not even ashamed of :shrug: :laugh:

It means the same here

the Bee Gees have a song called "Fanny Be Tender "?
:hmm:

Indeed they do...and its a love song :ohmy:

hehe...I didn't know the "other" meaning of fanny until I saw Graham Norton on BBC America telephoning women named Fanny so he could laugh at them :reject:

Maybe that's why the song isn't more widely known :shrug:

And now that I REALLY look at the lyrics, I'm beginning to think the Bee Gees pulled something over on the unsuspecting American public :hmm:

First I rise, then I fall
Seems like you don't want the love
Of this man at all
And it's sure been a lonely time
Right up to the time I met you
So if you take a love like mine

Be tender with my love;
You know how easy it is to hurt me
Fanny, be tender with my love,
'Cause it's all that I've got
And my love won't desert me

So you say to yourself, boy,
You're out of your brain;
Do you think I'm gonna stand here
All night in the rain?
And it's the start of a love affair
The moment when I first met you
And if you want I'll take you there;

Be tender with my love;
You know how easy it is to break me
Fanny, be tender with my love,
'Cause it's all that I've got
And my love won't forsake me.

With my love,
Our love will seal it together.
Oh, with our love,
You made a promise
You'll always love me forever.

Be tender with my love;
You know how easy it is to break me
Fanny, be tender with my love,
'Cause it's all that I've got
And my love won't forsake me.

OK I was taught British English in school and the only "fanny" i know is the female name!

From a guide to British Slang:

Fanny -

This is the word for a woman's front bits! One doesn't normally talk about anyone's fanny as it is a bit rude. You certainly don't have a fanny pack, or smack people on their fannys - you would get arrested for that! Careful use of this word in the UK is advised!

:eek: :reject:

It scared me when I was in the US and somebody mentioned a fanny pack. I was like WTF?????? :ohmy:

we call them bum bags in the UK

I remember hearing somebody on the telly when I was a lot younger talk about sitting on their fanny and I was quite shocked at that too!

:reject:

Sorry if I embarassed anyone...so in other words, fanny = breasts? Or did you mean ... :eek:
