Toronto 2 Setlist - The boys at their very worst (Crap show)

Here's a thought: I saw U2 at Manchester, UK on the Elevation Tour and the Vertigo Tour - first night in each case. Each time I was one of the first to get tickets in the scramble... then they added another show... If you checkout the setlists, they often add the newer or more interesting stuff...

40 ends the 2nd leg and Portugal show...

Well (as I said in another thread) I saw a U2 tribute band recently and even they started and ended with Vertigo. But the main point is (end of show or whatever):- why play a song twice when there are so many others to choose from? Nevertheless I would rather see U2 play a song twice than go...

    Paris I Setlist Party

Missed the party 'cos I was at a gig in Halifax UK... ... watching a U2 tribute band ("Us4") play support to a Pink Floyd tribute band ("Off The Wall") in front of about 3000 people. The U2 tribute band started with Vertigo..... and ended with it. Can u believe it? They were pretty good tho :o)

    were manchester shows sold outs?

Its not a question of demand but of U2 releasing tickets in batches and holding some back to mess up the touts' profits.

    MERGED--> Merchandise + European Merchandise + Prices

My family bought one official t-shirt (£20) and outside the ground in the carpark at manchester after the event we bought three unofficial (better design) t-shirts for £15. Amazingly, the sales were cash only - so if you wanted a hoodie, t-shirt, programme and poster, you needed to be carrying...

MERGED--> GA admission chaos/mess at Manchester + hysterically panicking

One more: - As we went in there was no sign or mention of wristbands to get into the front section. Lots of complaints were made but we, like everyone else, were told to find a spot in the crowd, even though it was less than 1/2 full.It was only because my girlfriend felt ill later on that we...

MERGED--> GA admission chaos/mess at Manchester + hysterically panicking

And another extract:- After hours of speculation gates finally opened an hour late, however we found that the pit was already packed because security was appalling, we were bounced around from one place to the next trying to get a wrist band only to find that you only qualified if you were a...

MERGED--> GA admission chaos/mess at Manchester + hysterically panicking

Another extract from another fansite post:- I was lucky enough to end up in the 'Golden Circle' at the front, not through bribery or good looks (!) but because a friend of a friend sold me a Manchester City FC stewards' pass for the same value as a normal ticket. Funny thing was I didn't even...

MERGED--> GA admission chaos/mess at Manchester + hysterically panicking

Extract from a fan review of Manchester 1 on another fansite:- A man dressed in odd gear approached us and said: "You can get Vertigo up here." My friend laughed and I angrily chuckled at this reincarnation of E.T. Then he said: "Come with me where you can breathe a little easier." E.T. could...

    Manchester 14-06-05 terrible crowd

We arrived early even tho we had seats, but a lot of the seating was empty until after both support bands were done (Snow Patrol were great). We watched the standing crowd from above and certainly someone (stewards?) was handing out access to the "bomb shelter" randomly. Someone in U2 has to...

    Manchester usually = rain

I have never seen a gig in Manchester without it raining. ever...! eg:- - U2 (twice 84/2001) - Big Country - Delirious? - Jethro Tull (6 times!) etc etc But it was always indoors... I too got soaked at Leeds Popmart, but the rain stopped after Cast finished their set. Praying for Tuesday...

Post from Zootopia ... Rehearsals from Mexico!!!

A Celebration was only a single not on an album, but they did play it live during the War tour. I saw them play it at Lancaster University - Bono was actually wearing a "Celebration" t-shirt, which he pointed at during Edge's guitar intro instead of saying anything. I think they like the song...

Snow Patrol to support U2 in Europe!

I'm delighted Snow Patrol are support for Manchester. Great band. Begins to make the £85 tickets seem closer to good value. Incidentally the stuff from Tickettwister says the show starts at 17.30. Is this the "doors open" time. or are there other support bands???
