I was told by the store manager that the promo stuff was sent by the district. They get orders from the DM and then the GM follows through, that sort of thing.

And I seriously doubt a store GM in Niles, Ohio is friends with Bono. I don't live in NYC or LA.

 Nah, he has one already.

Funny thing is that Bono also said that Edge will keep trying to mix the album even after it's on the shelves. STEP AWAY FROM THE BOARDS, THE EDGE.

You're right.

I know the GM of the Times Square Sam Goody. He was out at dinner with Bono and Edge last night and they confirmed that the album is imminent.

So what do I win?

a silent evening dinner with Larry Mullen Jnr.

And I do mean silent, as in, you are not allowed to speak to him unless spoken to first.

In fact, you are not allowed to even look him in the eye. You may not even be sitting at the same table as Mr. Mullen Jnr., or even facing the same direction as him.

But I do believe he will autograph his napkin and present it to you as he leaves, his perfectly preserved face wrapped in black sunglasses as he heads towards the exit flanked by the Irish republican mafia.

"But without my voice...how can I..."

"You'll have your looks, your pretty face...and don't underestimate the importance of body language!"

Every time I come to a New Album thread to see what's going on, it's like visiting an insane asylum. I imagine everyone like this:

Hi thread. Trying to think of something witty to post about how there's still no album but I got nothing.

Back to lurking occasionally. :|

for the first bunch of seconds 2:52 didn't impress me, but as B's voice got louder and higher...that became interreswting.... and some of the guitar after that rill the end

BUT i ALSO thought that version of Glastonbury 0:53 (starts) had the "kick" of the ?Solome session's with the beginning of "blow your house down" !

I loved Blow Your House Down. That wouldn't have been out of place on JT or even R&H. That little gem is probably one of my favorites of the Achtung B-sides.

The version from the AB sessions kick ass...the version they released on AB 20th Anniversary Editions was very watered down.

Can we get some of that Salome 'Blow Your House Down' sound for this new album...:hmm:

Yeah...I didn't think so...:sigh:

"Blow your House Down" Salome sessions sums up the AB new sound so much. It could have only fit on AB, it has the DNA of the album in it. It could have been an extra track on Japanese versions...

I hear some of the Stones' 'Satisfaction' in it as an inspiration (The Salome version that is)...:hmm:

I need the AB sessions version if that's the case.
All I've got is the B-sides cut from the AB remasters.

And yeah, I would LOVE for them to bring out some of that sound.  Wishful thinking never hurt anyone.

This one is not a finished one, more of a working tribal/quieter jam - there are 3 versions of it on the whole 'Salome' list.

I would group the 20th anniversary version of Blow Your House Down along with Glastonury in the category of "U2's post-NLOTH dismal failures".

Three of them?

Oh how I love the back catalogue.

Edit: And Youtube.

I've HEARD this one. Years ago. Wow, I'd forgotten all about it. I'll gladly take this x12 on the new album.

Take a look and see if you think perfectly preserved is apt. Hard to believe it's happened, but Larry is no longer the youngest looking member of U2.

Paul Epworth just posted a picture on Instagram of what looks to be a studio set up saying "church studio 3 nearly ready"

Instagram

A lot of the comments seem to lead towards it being for Adele.

Kinda wish we could see more of the photos. Usually our guys tend to be rugs on the floor and multiple amps strewn about... :hmm:

I think U2 would have been using Studio 1 for the past few months. The other room is being prepared for someone else, which could be a promising sign that U2 have nearly finished and Epworth is moving on to the next act.
Or is that being too hopeful?
