It never ceases to amuse me how often you miss the entire gist of a post you don't like, just so you can pick out something that you can criticize. Good old, BVS. You never disappoint. I'm glad to see that you've restrained yourself from using words like "troll", "shallow" and "arrogantly toolish" this time. I know that must take an enormous amount of will power on your part. But keep at it, BVS. I'm rooting for ya :wave:
 
Woohoo! Just found out we're actually getting a U2 tribute band coming to a wee amphitheater about 20 mins from where I live. (I live in a small town in NE Ohio so we never get ANYTHING good around here.)

We're getting Elevation! ELEVATION : A U2 Tribute Show

So I guess I'm gonna see U2 this summer anyways! :lol:

Oddly enough, the date is July 26. It'll have been exactly 3 years since my last actual U2 show and the day that I met Bono and Edge. :cute:
 
Whatever music video comes next (if there will be one)...U2 should resist the urge to follow the tired "band performing live" model. How many more times do we and the rest of the world need to see Bono with his shades, overacting and leaning into the crowd, Edge with the same beanie hat, Adam looking 60 years old, Larry looking 40 and upset about it, a crowd of extras worshiping or pretending to worship a song they had just only heard that day.

If it was up to me, I'd say do a music video without the band. A weird mini Noir film. Of course, a good song in the first place would be the most important.
 
I agree, screw the traditional performance video and have the new song play to some hot girl on girl action for 3.5 minutes. That would get them the attention they are craving...lots of hits.

I agree, U2 with the exception of maybe 3 videos have never really been that courageous with their videos, and then the ones that are slightly different they usually do a second straight forward version.

I'm kind of glad they're taking a while to make this album. That will weed out all of the shitty "fans". I almost want to beat these "fans" with a vinyl copy of Chinese Democracy.
 
So guys. News that isn't news. FYE is doing the "preorder" thing for the new U2 album. Without a title or a date.

This was taken today, less than 3 hrs ago.

I spoke with the manager on duty, and she said that they were instructed to put it out and they do not have a title or a date, that they will give it out as soon as they have it. (Putting a copy on 'reserve' would cost $5. I said not happening unless I have a date and title.)

Thoughts? :hmm:

Pre-orders for an album still 6 months away (probably)? Why not just buy it on the day it comes out?
Hope no one has laid down cash for this.

CK, keep an eye on the pre-order jazz. If nobody bites, maybe they'll discontinue it.

You can't legally collect "cash" unless it's officially signed. No one has laid down money unless there is a scam or there is a date. So let's all calm down.

Like I said, I'm usually at the mall because that's where our Target is. It's not any trouble to walk to the opposite end of the mall and nose around FYE each week. Heck, Books-A-Million is right across from them so I can nose around there as well. :yes:

FYE is reputable. Thus I'm more likely to believe a date is imminent. :hyper:
 
What are the odds that FYE (or, honestly, any brick and mortar shop) would have the first scoop on this in 2014?
