A little excessive, considering Artest couldn't even see who was behind him when he threw his arm out. Careless/reckless, but malicious? Come on.

Lakers were able to keep winning without Kobe, but I'm not sure they can get through the first round without Metta.

Please...he couldn't see who was there??

Metta World Peace [SUSPENDED]FLAGRANT FOUL[Elbow On James Harden - Thunder @ Lakers 4/22/2012] - YouTube

Watch the close up replays.

He's making contact with Harden before he throws the elbow, so the only part of your argument I'll buy is maybe he didn't know which Thunder player he was elbowing, but he knew full well he was elbowing someone, maybe didn't think he'd get the head thats about it.

I think it should have been 10-15 games.

And I'm quite sure that if the Lakers could win without Colorado Kobe, then they can get past Denver without Auburn Hills Ron.

i'm baffled at how that can be seen as anything other than malicious. this idea that artest was simply celebrating and just happened to catch somebody in the head is absolutely laughable.

could he have not known it was his head? sure, i suppose that's possible. i don't believe it, but i'll acknowledge it's possible. could he have not known who it was that he was elbowing? sure, that's possible too. was he in some sort of scary, psychotic rage in that he didn't realize what he was doing? yea, i tend to believe that that's the case.

but that he was just swinging his arms in celebration and oops, knocked someone out!?

that's the lamest excuse i've heard since rafael palmiero's B-12 shot.

and the lakers could have lost to denver with or without artest... and they could beat denver with or without him, too.

I'm thinking this as well. It's certainly in character.

Regardless of the motivation behind it, that was absolutely one of the funniest things I've seen all week. There are so many players I wish it had been instead of James Harden though.

Would have been quite funny if it had been Bynum, you know since Auburn Hills Ron was just celebrating and not being malicious and stuff.

Talk about being an apologist.

The whole scene, a guy with WORLD PEACE written on the back of his jersey flipping the fuck out and elbowing someone in the face...it's almost poetic. Is there something horribly wrong with me that I laugh uproariously every time I see the video?

I feel bad for Harden's face, obviously.

Perhaps it was Metta auditioning for his own Discount Double Check move.

Fuck the Heat. Let's do it.

it'll be interesting.

they need to matchup amar'e with jor-el anthony and chandler on bosh, because amar'e plays no D whatsoever.

the key to whether or not new york can make this a series is if mike woodson can figure out between, um, now and tomorrow, how amar'e and tyson chandler can play together offensively.

since he's come back, amar'e has looked great in games where chandler hasn't played, and has looked lost in games where they've both played. it's a big problem. they haven't had nearly enough time together, due to injuries and no pre-season, to figure it out. me thinks that whoever the next coach is will get to deal with that task (paging zen master phil...)

i'd also like to add that as good as 'melo has been down the stretch under mike woodson... that if he didn't flat out quit on the team during d'antoni's last days, the knicks probably would have had at least the 6 seed and would have been able to avoid miami and chicago all together until the second round.

That loss to the Bobcats earlier in the year also stings. That's the 6th seed right there. Oh well.

I hope they can make the Heat uncomfortable by winning a game on the road. I don't think the Knicks can win this series if they find themselves behind the score too often or trail by two games when they come back to New York. If the games go down the line, I trust 'Melo more than I would Lebron to put the ball in the basket.

It seems that Chandler might not play tomorrow because of the flu. That would be less than optimal. He really brings a whole different energy to this team. The problem with him guarding Bosh is that he will be taken away from the paint for rebounds, and the Heat would have a field day on offensive boards.

This short season feels like three different seasons for the Knicks, and yet their starting 5 have only played one game together (as starters). It's really weird.

I see Lebron's been watching quite a bit of soccer lately. Steven Gerrard would have been proud of that one.

Clearly this is all about LeBron being a bitch and nothing to do with the Knicks being a disorganized mess.
