Lucky you. Sadly I belong to the mass of mortals who can't grab their holidays in March and much less skip work.

Yup, I can definately consider myself lucky. I asked my manager if I could have my holliers in late March and she said yeah, sure, no bother. She didn't bat an eyelid. I'm sure she'll make me pay for it when get back tho!

Same here, booked a private room at the Hostel del Bosque in La Plata for four nights 29 March - 2 April.

I just emailed them again to ask if I can add one more night (28 March), with the idea that I'll fly in from Santiago a day earlier than planned in order to get in line on the 28th when I get there.

Flavia, when do you suspect the first fans will arrive at Estadio Unico? What day/time do you plan on getting there?

I don't know to be honest. I was in Dublin last time they played in Argentina so I have no idea when people started queueing up and what the lines were like. I'll ask my friends for some advise and I'll let you know.

Sorry I'm not Flavia, but FYI for the Vertigo dates, people started queueing one day in advance. When people were entering the stadium on the first date, there were already quite a lot of others queueing for the next day - roughly 24 hours in advance.

Anything your boss asks in return for the favour is nothing for a trip home featuring U2, asado and some real sunshine!

I went to the two shows

I arrived for the first on TUESDAY, 10 pm... the show was on a Wednesday... I was number 770 in line, I got in to the inner rail, Larry/Adam side, where Bono walked through going to the tip for the opening in COBL.
Leaving the stadium, people were already queing up for the next day.

I arrived the 2nd day around 10 pm, and was like number 1300. Got in the inner rail, next to the U23D camera on the same tip

so there...

OK, thanks! Good info.

Excellent, that sounds easy. I guess I'll go hardcore for the first show, then relax and not worry about getting up front for the second (and third) show. I will be so happy just to see U2 in South America.

Nick, consider the DAYS the shows will happen...

maybe I was lucky because the 2nd show was on a Thursday.

If there are weekend shows, I don't think it'll be that easy

True. The Saturday Santiago queue will be crazy, so I won't worry about getting out of Santiago 1 early to line up.

BsAs 2 on Friday April 1st will be easy if they don't play on 31 March... just go back in line straight away after the 30th show. Otherwise, if BsAs 2 is on Thursday the 31st instead, then I reckon the queue will be a bit shorter anyway.

ahahaha, you don't have to do that, man

(maybe I can ask you for something that surely it'll be cheaper there, and I can pay you here)

I don't know if it's corruption, I believe it's a purely commercial choice. Since La Plata is new to this kind of event and perhaps someone wishes to promote the use of this stadium, costs may be significantly lower. Also perhaps the stadium layout allows for slightly more seated tickets to be sold. I really don't know. The only thing I know is that getting there will be a pain in the arse.

Hey, dont complain so much!!! do you really have an idea what it´s like to get to River from La Plata???:lol::lol: I guess there will be more available trasport for those days and vans too...besides you get off the bus only 12 blocks from the stadium, not that bad...I do understand your concern we are really small city, but I guess the Unico stadium is ready for that and more... they are remodelling and it´s really getting very good... hope you dont get disappointed..if you need more info , please send me a PM I´ll do my best to help!!!

Worse than driving back to town, which will be rather late, will be getting to La Plata in the afternoon. Besides that, a lot of people don't have cars and will go by bus (me included) and 2 lines are definitely not going to be enough. I can foresee chartered vans and buses at outrageous prices. So that you get a notion of what I'm talking about, there were recently two Paul McCartney gigs at River. To park your car in the street (normally free parking), improvised caretakers were asking for as much as $150 ARS (half the price of a U2 GA ticket) to let you park, otherwise you risked getting a flat tyre, a smashed windscreeen or scratched paint at the very least.

the van to go to Paul´s concert from La Plata to BA was 60 pesos ,no that bad...

I'll try to go hardcore for all the shows, but I'm not sure if I'll be able for it. It's the old age, you know?

There's a small difference: there will be a lot more people going to La Plata from Buenos Aires than the number that go to concerts from La Plata to Buenos Aires. That's what's going to make things difficult AND expensive! Actually I like La Plata - it's a very nice city and I'm sure the stadium is OK. What I think is not OK is that organisers have not taken into account transport difficulties on a weekday. Think about 40 or 50,000 people trying to get to La Plata for the concert. There are surely going to be more buses and vans, but the demand is going to be huge and they're obviously not going to charge $60, but a lot more. Anyway that's the way it is and let's make the most of it! I'll try to concentrate on the fact that I'm going to hear Ultraviolet being played live. That'll make me forget any hassle. And if I can't get back home I'll ring your bell!!

I feel like I don't know, sometimes I feel like checking out..." No sé qué me puede pasar...

I do know you are right, but I tried to soften the burden...I agree with you traffic on a week day is madness!!! Not so sure about the vans, though, for Mc Cartney there were more than 30 vans that charged the same..so maybe...the thing is as you said let´s try to remember we are going actually seeing them...I could not go in 2006, so i have my memory of 98 only.... You`ll be more than welcome to come home... (dont tell everyone!!! :shh:

RG is the Identity Card number and CPF is their equivalent of Social Security Number. Not sure what a foreigner should put there! Maybe passport number and your own SS number?

I was able to create an account by using my own passport number for the RG* field, then I used an online CPF* generator to give me a working #

Foreigners are going to have a nightmare trying to purchase these shows if they dont do research beforehand

Yeah, I know - at least on the site for Argentina, it says foreigners should use eight digits of their passport number.

Si todos son como vos y yo, el SAME va a tener mucho trabajo.

Please, if you and Flavia start passing out during the show, let us know so we can move into your spot, gracias.
