 Very brief flyby! I'm heading out to catch up with some friends in about 10 minutes, so unfortunately won't be back to kill this thread until later. But!

1. Ashley and Reggo's cards arrived!!! I actually couldn't breathe for laughing when I saw that horse on Ashley's!!

2. I just realised, I've got my band tee and my skinny jeans on

Erk, this could be a problem. Gigs at The Palace have a habit of being late. Last time around, PT played 11pm-1am (though it was a Friday night). When I saw Opeth this year there, I think they were 10pm-midnight (on a Wednesday).

By "this year", I of course meant "November 2009".

And I'd done so well avoiding calling 2009 "this year" for the last week too ...!

And to be a history nerd, if I followed the Julian calendar instead of the Gregorian, I would still be in 2009 until the middle of next week!

 Exactly my point! The time and date are so freakin' arbitrary!

I'm all for following BOTH the Julian and Gregorian calendars. Then you get to celebrate your birthday, Christmas, public holidays, etc., twice.

What about the Jewish Calendar? ANd the Mayan Calnedar? And the Muslim Calendar? and the geological calendar? it's only 2010 cause a bunch of priests in 1511 decided it to be so.

 I almost noted an account with "Cardholder gave permission to speak with souse" instead of "spouse." I wasn't far off, though. His wife WAS drunk.

I find the idea of Anno Mundi hilarious.

How about a calendar dating years from the Big Bang? Could get a wee bit tiresome writing such comparatively long year numbers though ...

Wow.

You mean 09 January 13,700,000,000 is tiresome? You could always shorten it to 13.7B. Or you could go by cosmological ages.

... I'm going to make life easier for myself and decree today to be 8 January 205 AT. After Trevithick.

(Richard Trevithick's steam locomotive became the first to successfully operate on 21 February 0 AT, or 1804 to you Luddites who haven't got with my cool new calendar.)

Today is 29 Frankmas 37 AT. After Tré. Tré Cool was born on 09 December 1972. His real name is Frank.

I think we all saw this coming.

I presume this year is 42 ASW for Serena ...

Also if Daniel passes through: I found today that I'd downloaded YKTR and forgotten. I must have done it drunk or something! Anyway I'm up for a listening party when you guys do it!
