Happy New Year everyone , and the best wishes for this 2010!

Btw girls, was checking Elevation dates for next year and it appears they're doing some sort of afterparty after the July 3rd show... anyone interested? (If we aren't waiting by the exit ramp all night that is )

To get a pic like THIS? :hyper:

Good morning girls! Too bad I missed a rare Ali sighting AND drunkJem . I was going to clean the bathrooms today but I heard on NPR that cleaning on NYD is bad luck. darn.

:sigh: Another shitty year for me, then. ;)

Hope you all had fun last night, and aren't paying for it too much today!

I cooked till 4:30 last night (well, morning), and got to sleep at 5:30. Set the alarm for 10, but when it went off, admitted to myself that that wasn't happening, so I went back to sleep till 11. Got the turkey in the oven a bit ago. I'm sitting for an hour now because I feel like I'm broken, but after that I have to do some bad luck cleaning, pick up my mom, hook up my washer and dryer because she asked if she can bring laundry over, even though there's a laundry room down the hall from her, and by that time, I'm sure it'll be time to do other dinner prep stuff.

Tomorrow is my day off. I'm NOT doing anything all day. For real.

Thank god for Sarah, she's been SO much help through all this. Never could have done it without her.

And yes, that is a fine picture.

Wow, VP - what the hell were you cooking until 4:30? I'm assuming y'all do a big new years day dinner. Mr.Z is trying out his new crock pot today :giggle:

This morning I helped my son build about 5 lego sets while watching the Rose Parade, now we're doing a little bad luck cleaning ourselves. Trip to the park with the fam later, then a movie with girlfriends tonight. Happy New Year.

2 1/2 more days of vacation :scream:

Wonder how Jem's feeling today :hmm:

Oh, and XMen Origins: Wolverine? Terrible Terrible movie. Even Hugh Jackman wasn't that great to look at - too beefy - blech. Oh well. We didn't watch It Might Get Loud yet, so we'll probably watch that tomorrow.

[/ramble]

Jem says on Facebook that she is hungover, but we all probably already knew that.

I'm spending my day relaxing and watching the Winter Classic. My high school band was in the Rose Parade a few times in the 1990's

The Winter Classic is an outdoor NHL game. This is the 3rd year they are having it. It is the Boston Bruins vs. the Philadelphia Flyers from Fenway Park.

I was not in the band. I'm not musically inclined. I played sports. Field hockey and track.

I made a cake from scratch, roasted squash because the oven would be full today, and prepped all the stuff for the stuffing so I could just throw it together this morning. I didn't get started till after midnight though, because of the other things I had to do in the evening. We generally don't bother with a big NY day dinner, but I bought a turkey intending to cook it over the holidays. We love turkey, and going to someone's house for Christmas, we didn't get leftovers, so I decided to make one myself. It just so happened that it was thawed today, so I had to cook it. If I'd known we were going to be this busy, I wouldn't have taken it out of the freezer.

Mr Z. :cute: What's he making? Sounds like you're having/will have a good day!

I can't believe this holiday period has passed by so quickly. I've hardly had time to just chill with Sarah, so I'm definitely making time for that tomorrow.

Jem. :cute:  I just texted her a bit ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

My house smells SO good right now.

Enjoy your dinner, VP - I'm sure all the hard work will pay off when you sit down and eat all that yummy stuff. Mr.Z is making pot roast - will be done in an hour, just in time for me to eat before the movie. Yes, a good day indeed.

That's good to hear! :) Yay for using new things!

I'm okay, thanks. I've been sitting around all morning, and feel a little guilty, like I should be doing something. Sarah wasn't feeling well this morning so she went back to bed and is still sleeping, so I don't want to make noise and wake her.

Ooh, yum! I'll have to watch it muted though, she's sleeping a few feet away on the couch.

My 90 - 00 DVD won't work lately on both of my dvd players and the PS2. I need to get a new dvd player, but was trying to hold out till I could get a new home theatre system instead. I want to watch that dvd! :scream: Stupid technology...
