I've had the boxset for nearly an hour now. I haven't even broken the cellophane yet.. I'm just staring at it. So lovely :drool:

:lol: . . . I kept mine in the cellophane for a while too . . . and now I will only let myself look at it a little bit cuz I don't want to ruin its prettiness . . . this is sad, but I have kids sooooo . . . mine is actually stored in a big ole zip lock bag :reject: . . . chocolatey fingers and white boxes are a very very unhappy combination :lol:
 
Is the box set worth the $64? I just ordered it from Amazon a few minutes ago, but I had to enter in two $50 gift certificates to get to $64, and I'm this close to canceling the order and getting the standard issue instead. Linear isn't getting great reviews, I have Winter on my hard drive(not just the first poor-quality leak), and I don't know what the book will be like. I don't know, I'm just thinking I could cancel this, spend $10 instead, and use the $50 on something else. I'm not one that feels the need to buy four different versions of the same album.

and the address at the bottom of the email is in the UK.

i ended up getting the Magazine version with access to the film download at my local record store for $40. i didn't feel so bad about it. the Magazine is pretty cool, so i'm glad i got that, but i don't regret not getting the boxset.
 
I :heart: my box set. It is beautiful and way bigger than I thought it would be!!!!
I love the little booklet with the embossed words to the songs, I love it all. :cute:
 
Yes, I wouldn't trade the box set for anything, however if you personally are ok with the smaller booklet and cd then go with the digipack because the booklet is so much nicer than the plain cd booklet. It's completely different than the other booklet, different photos (color), completely more artistic and really beautiful with the embossed lyrics like U2SJ said.
 
I bought the regular CD yesterday then today got Digipack just for the new booklet which is much better -- but they glued the poster and booklet to it, so taken it off of the cardboard wasn't easy and it's paper thin in the back.

I assume the box set version is the perfect one...
 
LOL, just sitting at home staring at the unopened box hours hours, what a bunch of nutbags, how is bono still alive?

Because Linear on DVD isn't worthwhile considering 95% of people dislike it and is in 2.0 stereo anyway. The poster is folded, and the book is just a series of photos.

If you can afford it - get it. If not, don't stretch yourself for it.
 
sorry I havent read the whole thread, Im sure this has been asked, but I just bought the digi pak. all I really care about is the CD and DVD so I can get the audio of winter not from a download.

Just realized the sticker says access to the DVD. does that mean I only have a code inside that will let me download it?? do any of the sets have an actual DVD with it??

I paid 25 US for it, am I really paying 15 bucks for a code for the DVD?? I dont have much interest in the booklet, and I didnt even take the poster when I checked out.

Get the digi-pack. I'm really obsessive, but am perfectly comfortable with it. They let you dl the movie as many times as you want, but the sound quality gets distorted in the high end. I dled legally a copy for my ipod, and then torrented a proper dvd copy to burn. Skip the box set.
 
I caught up enough now to see that its box set to get the actual dvd.

what format is the downloaded DVD in?? only thing I saw in the thread was that the itune download of the video was ipod compatable. really?? the itunes download plays on an ipod. :hmm:

what is the format of the video download when you buy the digi pack??

are the digipak booklet and the box set cd booklet the same? how is the regular cd booklet from the digipak booklet? sorry... i'm a huge fan of four5one's work for the band so i like to see how they've presented everything.

I want to order the vinyl for the sleeve , every night when Dave holds it up I just :drool: I don't even have a working turntable , if that's what there still called .:huh:
