This would be pretty cool, too, though:

That's a beautiful photo tourist.

K, here's a question:
Why's the promo pic of the band in Fez if all the Fez material was scrapped? :hmm:

Fez wasn't all scrapped. The article refers to amterial from there surviving. Edge said that it was reworked or something. I can't remember, but it appears now that it is there. (Beach Clip 1, and the bit from Here is What Is better have made it!!!)

@U2's Matt McGhee (pre-this announcement): "Now I'm guessing it'll be next Monday. The rumor we heard involves something happening on Christmas day, so if that's still the plan, they can't wait much longer....."

@U2 today: "We expect additional announcements from U2 in the coming days..."

Although a couple of days (which felt like a lifetime!) out, @u2 were right about this announcement, which makes me really intrigued by what the "something happening" could be, and really excited by the prospect of more news in a matter of days!

What could the "something happening" mean? Maybe diddly squat, but maybe radio play? Maybe an appearance on the BBC's Top of the Pops Christmas Special? After all the show's now finished and this one-off is likely to generate plenty of interest...

Not even that much, Monday is most probably the U.S. release, and Europe is always a bit ahead (a day I think), remember the last releases! :)

And if I'm not mistaken, Europe releases are usually on a Friday.

The US releases Cd's on a Tuesday not Monday and I'm sure U2 will be no exception. March 3rd for US.

You said Fez too often, now all I can see in my head is the band with Bono wearing a fez...

The guys are standing on a gravel path, overlooking Fez. So it isn't open country. There is a public park above Fez with gravel pathways. I think this photo (and possibly the album photos) was taken on the patch of gravel path on the extreme left of this photo.
