Well to my knowledge I don't shame the family. On the other hand they went out of their way to make me feel terrible for supporting Al Gore. That was really wrong on their part and I've always been rather bitter about it (this is my extended family we're talking about). But I don't really mind so much now. The thing that kills me is that i keep having to tell them I'm a moderate. I don't blindly follow either party, I just lean to the liberal side a little more is all.

My ankle hurts.
You know, I dread the day my father finds out how much of a leftie I am. I'm sure that sounds funny to all of you, given how outspoken I am on politics, and it's hardly a secret amongst most people, but I've managed to avoid it with my father - it just simply hasn't come up. Surely he got at least a HINT during the Aussie election when I expressed my delight at the Greens rather than Liberals coming second to Labour in Melbourne's central electorate (the references to central Melbourne going "maverick" crack me up now in light of McCain), though I didn't actually say that I personally voted Green.
But he can't not find out after this weekend's Kiwi election, and I'm pretty sure he'll proceed to shit on me every time politics comes up from then onwards.

but i found out this job i interviewed for weeks ago wants to hire me. i'm psyched, it's right up my alley in terms of my qualifications. i'm going to be a lead in the customer service department for a local bank chain.
