I was surprised how easy WOWY is when I looked at the tab. I was playing along with it a few minutes ago, but I wouldn't say I really know the song at all yet. I guess it's all in the Infinite guitar, or having effects that come close to replicating it, so no version I play is ever going to sound more than half right anyway.

A lot of the stuff from Rattle & Hum should be easy to replicate without effects.

And there are the accusations I'm talking down to people because I think they're blind sheep.

Oh wait, that's pretty much true. Elitism: it's not all bad.

Not when it comes to bands that used to be good.

And then there are Desire, All I Want Is You, and Angel of Harlem--three of U2's easiest songs to play. I've played Angel of Harlem, but don't remember it. I remember it was simple, though.

Ah, now I hadn't looked at any RAH tabs yet. Hope Heartland, Hawkmoon, and God Part II are doable ...

Hawkmoon is simple, Heartland is a pain in the ass (though it's quite an achievement when you finally get it down pat), and I've never bothered with God Part II.

I cannot wait for my new Starflyer album. I hope it arrives in the mail tomorrow.

Ah, right. Not sure I'm really that interested in playing them, though, given they're such overdone, cliche songs.

Was just looking at the tabs and I think God Part II will suit me most at this point. The problem is that I suck at chords, and I have a nasty habit of deadening strings at the moment. I think it's just a total lack of practice, though it doesn't help that I don't have the longest fingers.

Then you should definitely avoid Heartland for the moment; there are some complex chord shapes in that one, and not much in the way of soloing.

Yo.

Ax, I beat you at your own game - hating One.

You SuperWin.

My tab has this:

[Intro]
Ebsus2 Csus2 Bbsus2 Ebsus2 Csus2 Bbsus2 Ebsus2
--6---8-6-----3------1----------6---8-6--------3---1---------6-------
--6-------6---3------1----------6-------6------3---1---------6-------
--8-----------5------3----------8-----------5--5---3---------8-------
--8-----------5-----------------8-----------5------3---------8-------
--6-----------3-----------------6----------------------------6-------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

... yeah, that's going to fail in a huge way if I attempt it. Especially right now.

(So the formatting of that kind of got fucked up. Bah.)

You know what REALLY sucks? My tastes have changed since I made my last top 50 albums list. It's usable as a reference, but I can't just copy/paste like I thought I could.

Bonnie, can I introduce you to Elvis Ate America, A Room At The Heartbreak Hotel, or SYCMIOYO?

I'm relieved that most of mine will just be tweaking the order. I can't think of much I want to add or remove.

Terrible songs the lot of them, and probably all in my bottom five or ten (although SCYCMIOYO is certainly the best of those three). But I don't hear the beginning of EAA on the radio most days, or see it top lists in shitty British rock magazines. You get what I'm saying? Cancer likelihood grows with exposure to radioactive mutants, etc.

No fucking way is SYCMIOYO U2's worst song. Stuck In A Moment or Elevation, maybe.

I pretty much don't differentiate between SYCMIOYO and Stuck in my mind. Same plodding crap.

I'd rather listen to Elevation. Much rather. Though it's still a really dodgy, crappy song.

OOTS all too often gets overlooked in discussions concerning U2's worst moments. I hate that song so very, very much. The only bearable version would be without the cheesy, over-the-top production and, ahem, vocals.

But yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Honestly, I was almost going off WOWY a little while back because of complete over-exposure. Then I heard it on a bus - a fucking bus! - one day and the intro just grabbed me and reminded me why I should still love the song, even if it and One are whored out to every city on the face of the planet as the height of meaningfulness and played at weddings by people who may just be deaf.

OOTS is a U2 song? I thought it was a gimmicky little thing from a children's TV show.

Just off the top of my head, a bottom ten U2 hits:

10. Red Light
9. DGPFYCC
8. TTYAATW
7. OOTS
6. So Cruel
5. ARATHBH
4. Elevation
3. Vertigo. Come to think of it, this should probably be number one.
2. EAA
1. One

I do have a top 10 too, though!

HOLY SHIT I FORGOT OOTS. I put it there, replacing a song that I'm really just completely indifferent towards.
