HAHA:evil:

I was feeling remarkably sprightly today actually, thanks for asking - I think I paced myself perfectly!!

Hah, nice. See, I've just gotten lucky - it seems to take a lot to inebriate me, and I'm yet to drink enough to give me a hangover. To give you some context, I once drank a whole bottle of red wine in under 3 hours and barely even got past tipsy.

A warning to Reggo: Many death warrants have been placed on me before. Those hitmen have since disappeared. Do you want to be the next body in a barrel, punk?

Idea for next DI

A playlist full of Rock bands covering awful pop songs

From Manic Street Preachers' Umbrella, to Travis' I kissed to a Girl, to KT Tunstall's Get Ur Freak On :hyper:

Yeah, I'm pretty much like that too - depending on what I drink tho - get me on the bubbly and I'm messy as!!!

That's cool! Arctic Monkey's doing Love Machine?!

They done Love Machine? That would so make the playlist

My next DI list will be a joke no matter what properly

They did it in the Live Lounge for Jo Whiley on radio1... it's hilarious, they're pissing themselves all the way through it

Oh god.

A disturbing amount of metal bands have covered Britney Spears songs.

No i wasn't doing it

I'm more the "oh shit it's Christmas day tomorrow" kind of shopper

I literally did do that last year, and I do it every birthday... sometimes even 'the morning of'

DI idea: covers of respected songs that are better than the originals!

That will be approximately one song long:

1. U2 - All Along The Watchtower

And it will still break the rules because it will need to use an unofficially released Lovetown performance.

YES I THINK U2'S WATCHTOWER IS BETTER THAN BOTH DYLAN'S AND HENDRIX'S. I SHALL GO HANG MY HERETICAL HEAD IN SHAME NOW.

Official releases? please!

I've no idea! I just roll my eyes and think "that's been done" and move on. Off memory, I think Children Of Bodom might've used a Britney song as a b-side once.

And I know for a fact that prog band Marillion have officially released some Britney cover or another. Liam would know the details for that.

Axver do podcasts count as released songs?

It would have to have the band's authorisation, wouldn't it? In that case, I think it would count as officially released, though might be best to run it by phanan too.

Well I think if a band appears on a radio show and it's made available for download; they agreed to it meaning it should count. At least in my opinion

Actually, I can think of plenty of covers better than the original, but they're obscure covers of obscure songs. For example, Agalloch's best song is in fact a cover of Sol Invictus's Kneel To The Cross. But have you heard of Agalloch or Sol Invictus? Unless you've been hanging around me too much, of course you haven't.

Yeah, the rule's really just there to stop people from making some amazing mixtape showing off how big their concert bootleg collecting dick is.

I've been listening to some tracks from your DI in the car lately, Ax. They work really nicely. Mainly because they're so long that I don't have to change the iPod at all throughout the trip.

Righto, I've the new thread good to go once we reach 1,000.

 Awesome. Glad you've enjoyed some of the stuff there. Do you perhaps feel the need to get a tan, though?

Amanda Palmer has put a live cover of Umbrella on the official website :hyper:
The Dresden Dolls recorded Baby one More Time as a live b-side for a single :hyper:

This list is coming together

I would say something about the size of Lance's Indie dick here, but I think there's only such thing as an Indie vagina.

:lmao:

By the way, I'm kind of worried. I keep returning to a few of those Fleet Foxes tracks, especially Your Protector. I'm about to give them 3.5 stars and a positive review on RYM. Though I went on a tangental rant in the review and slam hipsters at multiple points, and this negativity makes me feel a bit better about the whole thing.
