So far, I've listened to eleven twelve lists besides my own. Here's how I'm currently ranking them.

1. Phanan
2. (tie) Axver, LMP
4. LemonMelon
5. GAF
6. (tie) Mr. V, Atomic Bono
8. (tie) PFan, Bono_212
10. (3-way tie) Zoots, Khan, DOL13.

I'm mostly watching your placement of everyone in my division. So far, I'm in the middle of the pack.

Overall I thought the mood and flow of disc one was excellent but for the most part I didn't care for the songs. I didn't hate any of them, just found a lot of them boring. However there were definitely some stand-out tracks and a couple songs I enjoyed that I didn't expect to

on to disc two! i like the start better already

after Zoots DOL is up next, then Mr. V, then phanan

I'll prolly be listening to some in the car so I probably won't be able to post running diaries...though if I get bored enough I may attempt to with my phone  I had a dream that I had an iPhone and now I really want one

Haha I'm not surprised at all. It's cool. You like it loud!

I liked your last list a great deal, though, if that makes you feel better!

 Really? I thought my last list was almost universally hated. (As far as I can remember only Bonochick admitted to really liking it) My DI-3 list did at least marginally better than my DI-4 one.

Yours may be the toughest division. I can't say that, though, til I listen to Lance and Bonnie's lists.

Nah, I'm pretty sure group 1 is the toughest at this point, mostly because everyone has put LMP's list at the very top. And it is a great list, no doubt.

Anyway, I'm really curious about Bonnie's list. It's an odd mixture of styles. If the flow is good, hot damn. Lance's looks awesome, but that's just my taste talking; I always like his lists. Anyone else (Axver) may disagree.

You were just in the group of death in DI IV.

By toughest, I meant the group with multiple lists that will rank higher up. That said, Phanan's list is pretty damn perfect, so I'm pretty damn fucked since my list has gotten a lukewarm (at best) reaction.

Personally, I think the most interesting group to watch this time out will be group 4. There are three newcomers to DI there, and you can't tell me that you're not interested to see how Screw does.

His lists are always solid, I love it. I'd say good instead of lukewarm, if that helps you out.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Phanan's list (on paper) doesn't look like the tour-de-force that his DI3 was, or as focused as his DI4, but we'll see. I like more of the songs than last time, if that's any consolation.

And you'll do fine. I'm confident that you will.

I liked yours. It's my favourite from that group, though it's also the only one from that group i've listened to so far

Zoots, I'm liking this disc a lot more so far (well, besides this Dire Straits song) did you ever finish mine?

Good to hear... although I'm surprised by your reaction to Dire Straits. If you didn't like that song, you probably will not like the one following it!

I'm gonna finish yours tonight. That's the plan. :)

Resuming AB's list...

Man, I think yours and my taste are at the diametrically opposite sides of the musical spectrum! Well, maybe not cos there are quite a few of these alt. rock songs I do enjoy but...

Ferris the Destroyer, Fall of Troy and He Is Legend were almost unlistenable! I had to skip them after listening for a bit. :reject: I just cannot stand this screamo metal. :slant:

Didn't find Dinosaur Jr all that great either.

Now, Bodysnatchers is fuckin brilliant! Radiohead channeling Pearl Jam!

The Beltane song was not bad. In fact I quite enjoyed the instrumentation there.

The Academy Is... was pretty good. At least there was some sort of discernable melody here as opposed to the 3 I mentioned before. :uhoh::wink:

Bloc Party and minus were okay but didn't really stick in my mind. :hmm:

Did not like mewithoutYou.

Say Anything was interesting actually. "I worry about how this album will sell because it will determine the amount of sex I will have in the future"

TPC and LostProphets were cool.

Again, Number Twelve and Botch were simply not my style. :yikes:

M83 was pleasant enough but it didn't wow me. The ending reminded me of Killers' Read My Mind though haha!

Sleeping Years was okay. Mellow end.

Overall, I have mixed reactions to your list but I did enjoy a handful of songs including the incredibly kickass opening trio! In fact I feel like listening to those songs again! The other positive thing I would say is that the flow was not bad at all. It was never jarring even once. I had fun listening to your list overall.

Zoots, your list is up next in my queue or LMP. Call it, heads or tails. *flips a coin*

Did you use your lucky quarter?

Over and Over - Hot Chip: Reminds of Scissor Sisters a bit. A little bit. Gonna work well with Beastie Boys, I can tell.

Hey Ladies - Beastie Boys: The title always reminds me of Jerry Lewis, but I love this song.
