My paternal grandmother's the same way, all about her husband's grandchildren rather than her own. I can count the number of times I've seen her in the last decade or so on one hand.

i really shouldn't complain because i mean she lives with us, so i definitely get to see her plenty. but sometimes (like all older people) she'll fixate on something, and all she'll ask about is has this stepchild called, have they written, i want to send her a letter.

My sisters almost back to school! :)

I'd say "the poor thing", but after two weeks of being sick, I'm looking forward to being back at university this week!

Done deal! I'll buy you a few dwindling glaciers (and wandering sheep), and you can buy me a couple of sandy acres of outdoor living at its undeniable finest. we can write long rambly letters to each other on our surrounds, and all that stuff. Penpals, like in the old days.
:hyper:

Mountains! Glaciers! Lakes! Sheep! Glacial valleys! I can so live with this. It just screams "going wandering on long tracks through the countryside and writing a lot".

Yeah, but I'd be too sleepy to go glacier climbing by the time I got there.

By the time I get there, it'll be dark anyway. Not such good glacier climbing conditions. Tomorrow, perhaps? I'll bring freshly baked muffins.

You'd appreciate the sheep, you know. Signs of life in a very stark and harsh but fragile and beautiful environment. It'd be a nice balancing out. Would you have an open wood fire in a rustic old house, with rugs, cushions and wall tapestries, etc?

 Dani's still here; spending another night with me:wink:

How are you guys?

Awesome! Last night plans made yet?

I'm stuffing around avoiding some housework things. I need to take some pics off the camera to email to the husband, but Axver and I have gotten sidetracked dreaming of our ideal places to live, and I think he and Ashley are discussing the pros and cons of owning your own concorde to jet about as you wish. Or something? My mind is stuck in Barbados...

Wow, not a sheep joke? But yes, this is true. God, I want to go home. I'm on Google Maps right now, tracing out a drive around New Zealand.

I'd go for the wood fire in a rustic old house with a large deck affording great m ountain views, but instead of wall tapestries, I'd have bookshelf upon bookshelf packed with all kinds of literature.

I'm homesick and bored. I presume things are going well in Johnanddaniland, though?

Johnanddaniland is perfect :)

Not yet but we'll think of something

Wow that's....

Will lemonade also be provided?

Now it's hailing.

It's cloudy here. Boring and cloudy. Boring cloudy inner suburbia. Boring cloudy inner suburbia with older houses lost between uninspiring, unattractive sixties low-rise flats.

I want to move.
