Oh yeah, usually the rabble who can't be arsed very quickly start skipping classes left, right, and centre and the people who actually give a shit participate. And keeping your options open is ALWAYS a good idea. Don't be afraid to change your major if you're having doubts either. Best to change after just a year than to get near the end and have regrets.

I haven't actually been on one yet, just seen it go past me once. It was fucking insane. Feels almost like a train trundling down the streets.

Yeah I think we have a pretty big drop-out rate here in Australia, m i rite? Sounds good. Still scary to leave though!

I've seen one, I may have been on one, not too sure. Do they have seats? Or seats with those padded bars on the sides to sort of lean up against?

Have a good night, Serena!

Yeah, last I heard our drop-out rate is quite high, though I forget the exact statistics.

Like I said, I haven't been on the big new ones, though from the photos I've seen, I think they just have the low seats, not the padded bars on the side - I've only seen those on the B2 trams, the high-floor articulated ones (no, I only have a small hope you might get what trams I mean there). But I could be wrong! One day I'm going to make a point of trying to catch one.

I really don't trust the safety of buses, though. Especially not after you see stories of buses hitting other vehicles and then rolling down some nasty culvert and 10 people die.

Yeah. I'm really not fond of the idea of cross country bus trips. Then again, I have been in a cross country bus crash.

But, apart from underground rail it's probably the best way for people in East Auckland to commute....and there aren't many culverts to roll down.

Here's hoping you do and they live up to your expectations!

Anyway I've got a fire to light and homework to do, so I'm out. Ciao everyone

Yeah, I don't blame you. I'm just not fond of it because it's fucking uncomfortable!

Auckland totally needs some underground rail, but I don't know where the money to do it is meant to come from.

Oh god, we're going to see the wet beach volleyball in about an hour.

Haha, enjoy.

Holy shit, guys, I just managed to make my ears mildly pop and I have a little bit of hearing back!

Ok, I may not understand something about kayaking.

Over the loudspeaker is a voice "Start is in 10 seconds!"

Then a siren goes off almost instantly

Then they all take off. Um. That wasn't 10 seconds?

Steven Ferguson just won his kayaking semi final. And huh, I'm can hear the theme from footrot flats playing at the venue

Haha, what the hell?

But good on Ferguson. Come on, kayakers, bring home some medals.

I even get to turn down the TV a little!

Lawlz, Ian.

oh god  my grandma keeps the tv on so loudly. what's funny is my dad bitches abut her doing that, et HE des the same thing! i keep the tv pretty low and turn on the closed captioning, personally. like for example, my tv's colume goes up to...maybe 60 or so? i don't know. i keep it around 15, which is only about 1/5th of the volue bar thing that displays on the screen.

OK, folks, what do we want to do for the next thread? Do we want to start Museum voor Oude Kunst, Brussels, since it will almost certainly still be open tomorrow on the six month anniversary? Or do we want to wait and hope we get through the next thread before tomorrow's done and start Museum voor Oude Kunst on the actual day?

either is fine with me, which is no help, i know

We're only two medals off equalling our total medal count from Los Angeles, 1984.. Four off our total from Seoul 1988.

That's insane.

Wow, that's really awesome. Though we certainly haven't got close to equalling the gold count of Los Angeles. I really thought we were looking a bit fucked during that first week too!

Ooh, and 7's just replaying Usain Bolt's 200m now.

My dad does the same thing!

"Turn that TV down!"

I come downstairs later and nearly get blown away by someone coughing on TV.

I normally have my TV around 23-27, which is probably a fifth of the volume bar. But at the moment, it's at 35, and when I was at my most deaf yesterday, I was pushing it past 40, 43 just to hear it semi-decently. I hate the TV up too loud too.
