For some older people the Cold War/Communism memories might echo.

Between those hated him because he is black and (then) President, and those who hated his sometimes liberal, even center positions that was whole lot of nastiness to experience!

The truth is, this has nothing to do with democracy, conservative values, the constitution, or anything else they scream out.

This has everything to do with restoring that America where white men were dominant. Period. They don't care anymore the means, they just care about the result. It's why Trump is so bulletproof.

Ironhorse is defending fascism on Facebook, the right are making big efforts to normalize all of this.

Even the female Trump supporters are misogynistic assholes:

This was just yesterday.

This is about restoring that false reality of the 50s, where women and blacks knew their place, where fags were in the closet and trannies didn't even exist, science was just something fun but it didn't dictate our way of life, where you can just say it like it is.

When you are THIS desperate to live a vision that never really existed, you WILL embrace any means to get there. That is what this is, make no mistake. There is no reasoning with them anymore.

I'm pretty sure Ann Coulter is just a troll. Or at least, I hope she is.

Troll or not, this is a view shared by many Trumpican women.

By many women in general. It's evidence enough that feminism shouldn't be fought alone.

I 100% agree with everything in this post. It's about race and gender. Racism was what caused Trump's victory.

No surprises there, if you scratch a libertarian of his ilk, you unveil a fascist.

I didn't think you identified as a right-wing libertarian? In any case, I'm not too surprised that you responded to it - and partly why 'of his ilk' was included.

Who cares what I "identify" as. There's a difference between being something and identifying as something. We've been over this before - being "economically libertarian and socially conservative" is called being a republican. He's not a libertarian.

And I have no idea if you're intending to insult me or not. If so, save it for another day, please.

I wasn't intending to insult you, I did intend to have a dig at iron horse's brand of libertarianism however.

For the record, I don't see myself as libertarian, but as sympathetic to the real standing. I'm socially liberal, but economically I am "open to ideas." I'm not convinced one is inherently always more correct than the other, as with my societal views.

And when we (paid for) to Paris by eurorail got see eastern France's farmlands as well.

I'm a city gal, but I appreciate farmers, and ranchers. Studied organic gardening back in the 80's on my own.
i just meant it as a way of showing how times have changed due to industrialisation, from say 40 years ago, and how our social system needs to adapt as machines put people out of jobs - it's just part of inevitable technological progress...

the farms are still here and the French countryside is generally unspoilt by development - it's just that fewer people tend the land these days as machines do all the work now, same as we don't need work-horses any more, it's just changing times... yep, there are also lots of small-scale farmers, lots of organic farms too, alongside the industrial farmers which is great...

I'm pretty sure Trump's cabinet was coached to do all that.

Did anyone hear Ivanka Trump's whining?

Quote:
"It is hard. There's a level of viciousness that I was not expecting. I was not expecting the intensity of this experience."
Is she serious? Methinks she's just trying to mess with the minds of anyone who's against her father, just as her father does.

Guys, you don't understand. There has never been this type of viciousness. Trump did not accuse our last president of being an illegal one, no one ever attacked his family or their vacations, the Republicans did not spend 8 years trying to obstruct everything they could, they did not attack and accuse the woman that was campaigning after him. This is all new, this is unprecedented.

The scary thing is, Trump has destroyed irony along with fact, and folks actually believe this ^ Their memories were completely erased(maybe it was the Russians ) the day Trump stole the election.

Oh I think this is true and out there for everyone to see for a whole bunch, while maybe not the majority (at least not admitted consciously if it's there). Others were desperate enough to look sideways at his racism, sexism, xenophobia to which some voters those views may not have totally acceptable, but they were willing to believe in his jobs & economics promised.

Bleah on Coulter.

And as to what some of my "fellow" women still believe...

Ah, I see, a bigger meta point. Sure machines, vehicles etc have change farming, as well as various automatization processes have affected various industries over time. And ever more these decades (like even in coal mines)!

Glad to know small, medium and organic farming is still going on despite a large agribusiness presence.
