WORST song survivor: the unforgettable fire (round 1)

the final round for war had the refugee getting the boot. this means red light wins for this album, and will go on to compete in the finals later.

full results:
the refugee: 56
red light: 16

the rules are pretty easy. this is for worst song U2 survivor. this means you vote OFF your FAVOURITE song. the goal here is to see what is the least-liked U2 song for each album, and narrow it down to least-liked song ever.

ROUND ONE (THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE):
- a sort of homecoming
- pride (in the name of love)
- wire
- the unforgettable fire
- promenade
- fourth of july
- bad
- indian summer sky
- elvis presley and america
- mlk

you are to vote based on the studio version of that particular song. do not vote based on how it sounds live or how it sounded remixed.

timing of the poll: there are so many rounds, it really makes sense to keep each individual round as a timed ONE day poll. when we get to the end of each round, the final poll will last two days, to give more people a chance to vote.

ties will be broken by eliminating both songs from the poll UNLESS we are in the top five. even if there are three tied, all three will be eliminated. any more of a tie (four-way tie, etc.), then we will have a tiebreaker round.

also, when we get down to the final round (the winner of each previous round going against each other), these polls will last two days. the same tiebreaking rules apply.

remember, vote for what you consider to be the strongest song, or your favourite. this competition is to determine the WORST U2 song.

Ooh, which one to choose first? I love TUF, Bad and ASOH equally. I can pick my least favorite, no problem, but these early rounds are tough!

Bad for me this round. And I'll be in flight for the next one, but I'm getting a friend to vote Unforgettable Fire for me.

Peeved I'm going to miss much of UF's rounds.

If it's worth anything, my thoughts:

1. Bad
2. The Unforgettable Fire
3. A Sort Of Homecoming
4. Promenade
5. Pride
6. Wire
7. Indian Summer Sky
8. Elvis Presley And America
9. 4th Of July
10. MLK

Wow, I love this album.

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."
