RHMT is underrated? I adore the song, but I've never heard anyone say a bad word about it.

I never hear much about it at all, either good or bad, so I'd say it's under-rated as it should be a massive U2 tune. I wish it had been a single rather than ISHFWILF.

5. Stuck In A Moment - Yeah, it had pretty good commercial success, but alot of U2 fans seem to pretty much hate it. Maybe it's partially because of nostalgic value (it was the first U2 song I ever liked alot), but man, do I love this song. Behind Kite it's my favorite U2 song. The lyrics really connect for me (remind me of people I know) and I just think they're great either way. Extremely powerful in my mind. I also love the vocals. Awesome IMO.

4. Please - Why the heck does no one ever mention this song? It's incredible. It's like SBS but 100x better (yeah, I said it). Definitely shows how far U2 had come as a band. It also has one of my favorite U2 moments. The "and love is hard, and love is tough" bit between the transition in the middle. Beautiful stuff! And don't even get me started on the live version. I wish they'd bring this song back to their shows. 2 tours is way, way too long.

3. Zooropa - I had a little bit of a hard time putting this on the list because it seems to me that among U2 fans it is pretty well liked. Still, I think this is one of U2's best songs. Even though it wasn't on Achtung Baby it totally captures what that era was about for the band. Experimentation and clever social satire. The structure of the song was pretty darn cool too. The lyrics are amazing. It's different, it's cool, it's catchy. GREAT.

2. The Playboy Mansion - This almost made my no. 1, but didn't quite. Brilliant song. Like Zooropa, it's a fantastic commentary on the state of commercialism and all that jazz. I love the slide guitar and the overall jive of the thing. Awesome. U2 was great at social satire and it's what I miss most about them. The "and will there be no time for sorrow..." bit is easily one of my favorite U2 moments ever. Simply beautiful.

1. Your Blue Room - One of U2's best songs ever bar none. I could listen to this song over and over and over again (which I do) and never get tired of it. This is the band's most atmosphereic song IMO. Like the name implies, it's a blue song (not in a sad way) which is my favorite color for a song. Bono's vocals on it are also great great great, as are the lyrics. It's my favorite song to listen to when I'm driving in the rain or when I'm falling alseep. Completely beautiful overall. I can't give it enough praise.

I'd also like to throw the entire Passangers album in there. The whole thing is an atmosphereic dream. There are so many beautiful songs on it like Your Blue Room, Miss Sarajevo, Slug, Beach Sequence and Always Forever Now. Every track is good though. It's kind of like U2's diamond in the rough. Take some time to sit and listen to it on a rainy day. It blows me away every time.

YES.

I'm sick of hearing it trashed. I don't even know why it's trashed. I have to wonder if the people rating it so lowly have even bothered to listen to it much at all. Songs such as Slug and Your Blue Room should be U2 classics, and they would be if they were on any other album.

1. Miami - i love My Mammy
2. The Playboy Mansion - very sexy song
3. Wire - great hyperactive fuullband teamwork
4. Indian Summer Sky - i just love TUF as a 'Gesamtkunstwerk' (total artwork)
5. Grace - the perfect showdown for a lame album

In no particular order:

Stateless
Ground beneath her feet
Falling at your feet
North and south of the river
* She's a mystery to me

* I know it was written for Roy Orbison but I still wish U2 would put out their own version.

But I still like it...ok switch Falling at your feet for Promenade.

On that matter, U2 did actually record their own version prior to the Orbison version, when they visited Sun Studios in 1987 (not sure by your phrasing if you are referring to that or not, but I thought I'd mention it for those who only know it as an Orbison song). I don't get why U2 never released it. Imagine it as a bonus on a 20th anniversary JT.

When I Look at the World
MIAMI!!!!!!!!
The Playboy Mansion
Crumbs from your Table
Some Days Are Better Than Others

1. Red Light
2. 4th Of July
3. Grace
4. Is That All
5. A Celebration

1. All of interference hate this song, I don't understand why, If it's just the backup singers shouldnt Surrender be just as hated. This songs contain amazing passion, guitar work, Bono is really into it, a great love song.
2. Number one instrumental U2 song, it's a bit short but the atmosphere is so relaxing.
3. This song sounds very similar to 4th of july, except more uplifting.
4. Yeah the lyrics are nonexistant, but the song is pure rock, I doubt it would be as hated if it was instrumental.
5. The band hates this song, for some unknown reason. Is it silly? what the hell are Vertigo, Discotheque or Elevation then? Atleast it's a great rock song.

There was a U2 version in 1987? As in, not just a demo?

I'm not sure if the 1987 Sun Studios version would be classified as a demo. It's from the same session that Angel Of Harlem on the RAH movie is from. They did five songs that day ... I think they were Angel Of Harlem, When Love Comes To Town, Desire, She's A Mystery To Me, and ... Can't Help Falling In Love? I'm not sure on the fifth one.

Exit
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
God II
Elvis Presley and America
Your Blue Room
Mothers of the Disappeared
Wild Honey
Fast Cars
Dancing Barefoot (cover, but great, very well done)
One Step Closer

I know it's not 5 but I couldn't choose

3. Beautiful Day
4. Vertigo
5. I Will Follow

;)

What about With Or Without You? It's so underrated. Only #1 on the US charts? ONLY #1? Why not 0.5? Poor WOWY.

Three words: Background techno shit.

I sincerely enjoy the acoustic version.

My Top 5:

1. The entire Boy album.
2. Two Hearts Beat as One
3. Red Hill Mining Town
4. God Part II
5. One Tree Hill/Zooropa just for not being in the pantheon of U2 greatness.

The most underrated/underapreciated by U2 fans are Trip and Mysterious Ways. They aren't necessarily the strongest of songs but they provide a much needed counterpoint to the mood of the albums they appear on.

"the playboy mansion" is U2's most underrated song

Then will there be no time for sorrow
Then will there be no time for shame
Then will there be no time for sorrow ..........bitches:rockon:

 Is that from the rumoured Playboy mansion remix for the Hands that built America single, xavi?

If You Wear That Velvet Dress
The Ground Beneath Her Feet
When I Look at the World
Red Hill Mining Town
Elvis Presley and America

1. Promenade
2. Drowning Man
3. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
4. North and South of the River
5. Zooropa

I wish North and South was on Pop, It fits so well between Velvet Dress and Please.

This song finally hit me yesterday. It's an amazingly beautiful song and is definitely one of the band's most underrated songs. It's a very calm and relaxing tune.
