What is your all-time favorite intro; either lyrically or musically or both?

INTROS

1. I was on the outside when you said you said you needed me
2. I try to sing this song; I...I try to stand up but I can't find my feet
3. I can't believe the news today; Oh, I can't close my eyes and make it go away
4. And you know it's time to go through the sleet and driving snow
5. I want to run, I want to hide; I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside
6. This is a song Charles Manson stole from the Beatles. We're stealing it back.
*didn't put the actual opening lyric here cos it's not theirs*
7. I'm ready, I'm ready for the laughing gas; I'm ready, I'm ready for what's next
8. (What do you want?) Zooropa...Vorsprung durch Technik
9. You can reach but you can't grab it; you can hold it, control it; no, you can't bag it
10. The heart is a bloom; shoots up through the stony ground
11. Uno, dos, tres, catorce (Turn it up loud, captain) Lights go down, it's dark...

What about...

OUTROS

1. But I know, oh no, but I know...shadows and tall trees...
2. Is that all you want from me... is that all...
3. How long...how long...how long...how long...to sing this song
4. Let it rain... rain on him
5. Through the walls our daughters cry; see their tears in the rainfall
6. You...all I want is...you...
7. Won't you wrap the night around me, oh my love... blindness
8. Yeah I left with nothing... nothing but the thought of you... I went wandering
9. Wake up, wake up dead man
10. Grace finds goodness in everything
11. Take this heart and make it break

I think mine are...

I think you guys misunderstood the wording a bit. I meant Album Intros and Album Endings. Which one or ones do you think are absolutely perfect? I've typed them all out in my original post.

I'm surprised that no one has picked "how long to sing this song". Where are all the 40 fans?

Right on Axver! A Sort Of Homecoming lyrically does rule all...That is Bono at his poetic best there...i think the WAIA version has much more impact musically however.

I have to take Zoo Station as musically the best intro...it's everything an intro should be intense, captivating and reflective of the album as a whole. Lyrically take it or leave it...

Overall tho... on balance Streets has the best blend of both musical and lyrical genius...

Outros.... Love Is Blindness...Love Is Blindnes...Love Is Blindness...
