This was a much better idea, I wish they'd done it this way. I was just talking to someone the other day about how "Vertigo" totally pumps you up, and then "Miracle Drug" just totally kills the vibe. Part of what's usually so good about U2's albums is their "album" quality -- the way the songs seem to flow together. HTDAAB is kind of missing that, IMHO.

I completely agree. The first time I heard HTDAAB I was a little suprised in how badly Vertigo flows to Miracle Drug.

I tried this alternate listing from Spin and it flows MUCH better IMO.

Wow, the Spin listing is the best I've seen yet, erm... even better than the real thing. It makes the album seem stronger, with more substance. In reality there is a real lull in the album between ABOY-OSC. This listing keeps momentum in the album, without disturbing the narrative.

I love it.

Only flaw.. after a massive ending to LAPOE, the stripped back AMAAW doesn't work. But then again, AMAAW never works.. why couldn't we have Mercy.
