Because there's a lot of new album news waiting on, I decided to find some anniversary news -

This is the five year anniversary (not date, but month) of this side project Bono did -

Bono has written additional verses and added vocals to 'Slide Away', a track that former INXS singer Michael Hutchence left unfinished before his death in 1997.

Just days before his death in a Sydney hotel room in November 1997 wrote the ballad 'Slide Away' but he left it unfinished.

When it came to putting a posthumouis album together, Hutchence's producer, Andy Gill, offered Bono a selection of tracks for him to duet on. Bono picked the incomplete 'Slide Away' and wrote an extra section before recording his contribution in London during July 1999.

Some of the words Bono added were:
'You tore a hole in space like a darkstar,
You burn across the sky
and I would find you wings to fly.
I'd catch you if I heard your call.'

Hutchence's own words in the song - 'I just want to slide away and come alive again' - seemed eerie in light of his sudden and mysterious death.

'Slide Away' was included on the album simply titled Michael Hutchence which was released in October 1999.
