Videos I saw on Subterranean tonight:

Keane - Somewhere Only We Know
Badly Drawn Boy - Year of the Rat
The Veils - The Tide That Left and Never Came Back
The Fever - Gray Ghost
Federico Abuele - Postales
Sondre Lerche - Two Way Monologue
TV on the Radio - Staring at the Sun
Simple Kid - Staring at the Sun
Tortoise - Salt the Skies (did not like the song, but the video redeemed itself with flying sock monkeys)

Yes, I was a dork and wrote them all down.

I believe that song's title is "All Day Long I Dream About Sex"-I'll have to ask my sister about it (yes, she has the CD, and I have heard it, and...um...I was actually pleasantly surprised-there's a few decent songs on there. I still like that "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)" song. It's just way too catchy).

Before I crawl into a reject box for that admission...a quick list-top 5 Split Enz songs I really like at this time, in no particular order:

1. One Step Ahead (this song is eerie in a cool way)
2. I Hope I Never (I haven't heard a ton of songs that Tim has sung lead on, but out of all the songs of his that I have heard thus far, I think this is my favorite)
3. Message To My Girl (I just cannot get tired of this song)
4. I Got You
5. Dirty Creature (this song is another one of those funky ones, like "Miami", that is so weird, yet very cool)

*Heads off to her reject box now *

ADIDAS is korn. or maybe that guy has one of those songs too...i don't know.

5 cds i tried to track down in the record store today, and could not ( ):
the bruisers - cruisin for a bruisin
stiff little fingers - guitar and drum
hudson falcons - desperation and revolution
hudson falcons - la famiglia
radiohead - the bends

some cool song titles that i don't think were mentioned in that thread about cool song titles a little while ago:
who died and made you elvis (stiff little fingers)
an ode to the nocturnal muse (of montreal)
don't make me get my fat lazy ass off this couch (the vandals)

various iron cross covers i've heard:
agnostic front - crucified
dropkick murphys - you're a rebel
the bruisers - live for now

various blitz covers i've heard:
the bruisers - nation on fire (3 different versions)
madcap - new age
roger miret & the disasters - voice of a generation
(ok, i know there are more...i can't remember though)

a very, very short and nowhere near all-inclusive list of bands i like to talk about, despite the fact that i know no one cares (both online and offline):
street dogs
the bruisers
hudson falcons
ducky boys
roger miret & the disasters
discpline

bands that i've mixed up with each other for no rational reason:
live, dave matthews band
radiohead, counting crows
iron cross, minor threat
bad manners, madness
roger miret & the disasters, duane peters & the hunns (die hunns)

wierdest choices of cover songs i've heard:
that lounge version of disturbed's 'the sickness'
hudson falcons--open all night (springsteen)
the blue bloods--i'm going down (springsteen)
dropkick murphys--baba o'riley (yes....the who)
pretty much anything sounded miles different when RATM did covers
ducky boys--bad moon rising (CCR)

most predictable covers i've heard:
any streetpunk band that covers: cock sparrer, the business, or blitz
dead ellington--hopeless romantic (bouncing souls)

only two bruisers covers i've heard:
discipline--frontline skins (iron chin)
blood for blood--bloodshed

top 3 bands of which i've bought 1 or more albums by...because of an interferencer:
bruce springsteen (headache in a suitcase)
AFI (u2popmofo)
the long winters (digi)

bands on tshirts that i've worn to death:
live
barenaked ladies
dropkick murphys
counting crows

bands i've seen more than once:
barenaked ladies
counting crows
dropkick murphys
gaelic storm
enter the haggis
the toasters
andrew wk
infamous jake & the pinstripe mafia (local)
the skeptics (local)
school for the dead (local)
the aloha steamtrain (local)
