Well, I'm back at work. I have a pile of emails and projects and papers a mile high waiting for me, but I don't care. I'm too tired/depressed/yet happy/elevated to do much of anything!

I will have my photos scanned in the hospital photography room today (first Pleba tags in the printing shop, now this! This place is very handy!) and I will post them tonight.

Well, first of all, we arrived in Montreal and met up with OliveU2cm and She Is Raging for dinner (along w. 2 of my other non-interference friends). It was so great meeting them, and Naya and Zoogrl. It's also kind of surreal!! I don't know about everyone else, but I had a very hard time sleeping on Thursday night. Friday morning, we thought we'd be doing very well to arrive in the line at 6:30. HAH! We were 159th in line!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, it was there in the line that I made my sign. "No Offense Bono, but I want to dance with THE EDGE!" (with a big heart) I knew it would have to be short and sweet, but also unusual. I was a bit worried that it would insult Bono, but then again, I don't think he gets insulted that easily, and furthermore, he loves the Edge so much, I figured he'd get a kick out of it.

(he kissed the Edge on the cheek!! It was so cute!!!!!!!)

But I digress. The funniest part about being in the GA line was the reaction that Steve got. (I really need to get some pics where Steve isn't smiling, because that's when he REALLY looks like Edge, right Carrie & Kathleen?) We would walk along the line and people would spontaneously shout "The Edge The Edge!" just like they do with the real thing! Another guy yelled "Salut, The Edge!" from the other end of the line! At least 20 people came up to get photos with Steve. It was very bizarre, but so much fun! One guy I met in line, Dave, said to me "I read that you were going to bring your husband who looks like Edge, but I thought naaah. But I stand corrected!" It's just too bad that he only got to wear the #7 shirt indoors where it was warm.

I was very impressed with the security and the line in Montreal. It was extremely civilized. We actually went in in numerical order, and it was the same order as our own numbers! No line jumping! We made a bee line for Edge's rail. I told everyone around me about the sign, and became very nervous. Garbage came on, and Montreal gave them a very warm welcome, which was great. Both Garbage and U2 spoke French to the crowd which was great.

Finally, that song (what's it called?!?) that they always play came on. And then...."dadadum dum dum dum Daaaaa dadum" All You Need is Love FOLLWED by Sgt. Pepper. Being a humungous Beatles fanatic, I thought I'd pass out from delight. And then....EL-E-VA-TION!!!!!!! Wooooohooooo! We all went totally banannas. This was the most joyful show I've ever seen. The band was so full of energy and it was so ecstatic. Sheer bliss. The best part was they did the Matador thing right in front of us.

Right when they started Angel of Harlem, I decided to hold up my sign. I felt like a complete idiot, because everyone can see the sign, and I had to keep holding it up and putting it down when they weren't looking. But the people next to me were really into it, and would scream "Put up your sign!!!" every time Bono and Edge were near. During Angel of Harlem, it looked like Edge had read the sign (he had a vague smile) but it was hard to tell. Then they did Staring at the Sun, and I tried again. At the end of the song, I held it up for Bono, who stood and read it. It's a strange feeling knowing that THE Bono is reading YOUR sign. This small smile came on his face, which became a grin. He looked right at me and made this gesture like "Oh, I'm sorry, but I just can't! There's nothing I can do!" Then I thought that was it, so I put the sign away, feeling very excited that Bono had looked at me. Edge had made his way along the ramp towards the front. Suddenly, I noticed that Bono had gone after Edge and was talking to him. Then they began to search the crowd a few feet away from me. I began to panic. "Meee! It was meeeee!" I screamed. I held up the sign again, and they both looked at me. Bono laughed and Edge read the sign. Edge then burst out laughing and gave me the most adorable, crinkly, Edgie smile you have EVER SEEN! I would have done ANYTHING for a picture of that!!! If anyone knows anyone who went to Montreal and was near the Edge rail and got that picture, I REALLY WANT IT! (I bet Bono said something like "Edge! You won't believe it! A girl loves YOU and wants to dance with YOU of all people and not me! Come and see this!!")

But this is the great thing about Bono. Not only can he take a little teasing, but he could have just gone, oh, ha ha, cute and moved on, but he actually GOT THE EDGE for me! What a sweetie. I LOVE BONO. He made my night!

Needless to say, I was on cloud 9 after that. I'm shaking right now just remembering it. I had made the ultimate Edge girl sacrifice of giving up the possibility of dancing with Bono in favour of expressing my undying devotion to Edge. mmmmmmm.

Now I have to come up with a great follow up sign for Vegas. I would have put it up in Hamilton, but the People Get Ready guy beat me to it. Anyway, after the show ended in Montreal, we drove in the pouring rain straight for Hamilton. Poor Steve. I couldn't even bring myself to stay awake to keep him company, I was too exhausted. I was worried he'd fall asleep and we'd get in an accident, but he said "When I'm speeding, the adrenaline keeps me awake!" We made it to Hamilton at 6am, and were 143 in line! This is INSANITY!!!!

In Hamilton I got to meet The Sweetest Thing which was so great, because she and I both dance. (Janine, if you read this, can I get your email?) The line took FOREVER. The inside of Copps colliseum was FREEZING too. The Hamilton show was the exact opposite of the Montreal show in that it was so INTENSE and SAD!!! You will have read about it in reviews by now, but we were all in tears by the time the show ended. In that way, I preferred Montreal simply because we were on such a high. But Hamilton certainly was POWERFUL.

During One, everyone was kind of waving their arms around, but I was standing very still crying and with my hand crossed over my chest. Edge was looking straight ahead, and it looked like he was looking at me. I stared at him for awhile, and then I smiled. Immediately, he smiled. I wonder if he saw me/recognized me, or if this is my imagination going overtime? It was an odd coincidence though.

So...after Hamilton, we got stuck in construction for an extra HOUR...and didn't get home until 2am! We had not slept a wink in almost 48 hours. Although we slept in on Sunday, I am totally bagged today, and have a splitting headache. And heartache that it's over. If it weren't for Vegas, I'd be suicidal!!! AAAGGGHHH! Why couldn't Bono have just pulled me up to hug Edge for 2 seconds?!?!?! Now I have to go through this agony again in Vegas!

Oh, well. So that's my experience in a very brief nutshell. I know I'm kind of making a huge deal of something that lasted maybe 90 seconds tops, but it did mean a lot to me.

EDGE, if you do in fact read Pleba at all, please know that my adoration of U2, and you especially seems to have gone up a few more notches (is that possible???) and I throw myself at your feet, my very heart and soul are yours!!!!!!!!!!! If you let me dance for you in Vegas, I promise you, it will be a performance you will NEVER FORGET!!!

OOOH! And I got my endoscopy pics back! Will post them tonight too!!! LOL!!!

There is no doubt in my mind Edge remembered you. No doubt. and the way edge looks at people from the stage- first of all it's rare, at least during the first leg, and secondly it's hard to tell but him smiling back at you.. plus I'm sure he was feeling what you were feeling, seeing you so still and obviously so touched.

Here's a picture of Jessica's sign for everyone to see:

I'm so happy you got a big smile from the Edge with your sign! I bet if you have a similar sign in Vegas and get Bono to notice it, there could be a chance for you to get onstage! I'm sure Bono and Edge would remember you since they seemed to get such a kick out of the sign. I really hope someone has a picture of Edge's smile for you!
