Bono duet with Kylie Minogue at her concert tonight

From AAP:

Bono sings on stage with Kylie
By Jonathon Moran
November 12, 2006 10:06pm

U2 frontman Bono showed his support for Kylie Minogue tonight by singing a duet with the pop singer in Sydney.

The duo sang Minogue's hit, Kids, which the singer originally recorded with Brit Robbie Williams, before 10,000 people at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the company of greatness tonight,” Minogue said.

“Let me hear it for Bono.”

Minogue was wearing a leopard-print cat suit while Bono rocked it up in a black suit and sunglasses.

“It's such an honour for you to sing with me,” Minogue said.

Bono then jumped in and said, “You're perfect”.

The pair danced around the stage and Bono got down on his knees, kissed Minogue's hand and thanked her at the end of the duet.

Minogue kicked off her Showgirl Homecoming Tour in Sydney last night. It was the first time she had performed in front of a crowd since being diagnosed with breast cancer in May last year.

The London-based 2004 Grammy winner was forced to take a break of more than a year while she underwent treatment.

She was diagnosed with cancer just days before she was due to start the final leg of her Showgirl World Tour in Australia. The tour was postponed indefinitely with fans told to hold on to their tickets.

Following Sydney, Minogue and her Showgirl troupe will travel to Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, before heading back to Europe, playing dates in the UK from January 2.

U2 are in Australia performing their Vertigo tour which kicked off in Brisbane then played Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights.

Their Australian leg of the tour last March also was postponed due to a family illness of one of the band members, believed to be guitarist David “The Edge” Evans.

They restarted the tour in Brisbane last week and will travel to Adelaide, Melbourne and Auckland.

Hopefully some lovely piccies/audio/video surfaces

Edit: heres one

Bono looks lovely, as always.

Wow I’d love to see that. Now this is really weird but I had a dream the other night that Bono was trying to sing Kids in the front room of his house. The room was full of people and he was asking all the women to do the Kylie bits but no one would and in the end George Clooney stepped in which was really funny . I don’t normally remember dreams but this was very vivid -perhaps having Bono and George in the same dream had something to do with it . I went to see Robbie Williams at Milton Keynes a few weeks ago as a friend had a spare ticket and actually he was really good. He sang Kids as the last song so perhaps what with the tour recommencing down under that's why I connected the 2 together in the dream but it is a bit spooky.

Just search 'Bono Kylie' on youtube and there's some footage from the crowd of it. Not great quality, but pretty funny.

Bono should really switch over to wearing suits now, Bryan Ferry-style. There comes a time when the leather just doesn't fit as well anymore. He looks really, really, really good here.
