Chicago...looking at my awesome view of the Sear's
I received the last Proganda magazine yesterday!!:hyper:
The weird thing is that I tried subscribe about
6 months ago and I received an e-mail that they
were no longer taking subscriptions and
my check was never cashed.  :hmm:

Anyway I thought I would share an interview
on page 5 of the magazine concerning my
favorite topics: music, books & movies!!
I hope this is not old - I haven't seen
here before but ya never know.
(I hope there are not many typos)

What have you been listening to lately?
Adam: ?the new Angie Stone record is cool,
and there?s a world music thing I just got called
One Giant Leap that?s splendid?.
Bono: ?A compilation by DJ Podge put together
to celebrate (U2?s club) The Kitchen, which is
coming to an end. Kind of a chilled-out acid
groove thing, Radiohead are still making
achingly beautiful music: it?s a private party
right now, and that?s kind of nice?
Edge: ?The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club ?
they?re got a great lifeforce. (Bob) Dylan?s
last Record, Love and Theft. A bit dry,
but there?s some great lyrics in there?.
Larry: ?The Ryan Adams record I like a lot.
Then there?s The Strokes, The White Stripes ?
And I really like the Andrew WK record (I Get Wet).
Good rock n?roll basically.?

What records do you find yourself returning to?
Adam: ?I always go back to Nick Cave?s The Boatman?s Call. I?ll always go back to Van Morrison, to Bob Marley.
Bono: ?I?m going back to The Bizzcocks at the moment an
I?m really enjoying some early Punk rock. For
meditation, I find that I always go to Miles Davis
In A Silent Way and Lift to The Scaffold
or John Coltraine?s A Love Supreme
?A sexy kind of prayer, that one?.
Edge: ?Everything form The Chemical Brothers
and The Eels first record to The GoBetweens
and The Sex Pistols. And The Pixies, obviously.?
Larry: ? A lot of Beastie Boys stuff. III
communication
in particular. There?s so
much on That album.?

What have you been reading?
Adam: ?I?ve been reading a lot of
Paul Auster, Shanghai Baby
by Wei Hui, and that book White Teeth
by Zadie Smith. That was an interesting
one to be reading around the time of
September 11, for the insights if offers
on different religions living together in
one big city.?
Bono: ?Mostly World Bank reports (laughs).
There?s this fantastic book that?s been blowing
My mind by Edward O Wilison called Consillience.
He believes that all knowledge ? be it
science, medicine, sociology ? seeks an
interface, jumps towards a common ground.
He?s one of the great writers, his gift is to
explain one through another.?
Edge: ?The Quest: The Search For Believable
Beliefs
. It?s a kind of historical critique of
[italic]The Bible[/I]. I wouldn?t necessarily go
along with everything it says, but it?s interesting
to read somebody who?s really done their research,
gone in deep on the subject.?
Larry: ?Funny enough, a history of the Black and Tans.
I remember studying them in school, and It?s
always interesting later on the see how history
has a funny way of rewriting itself in the Irish
educational system?.

The last great movie you saw?
Adam: ?Happiness?.
Bono: ?The Royal Tannenbaums. There were no flaws in it?.
Edge: (at the end of long day in the studio, we stress) ?Nothing comes to mind.?
Larry: ? The Man Who Wasn?t There and Monsoon Wedding.?

Larry listens to the Strokes and the Beastie Boys and he saw Monsoon Wedding?! Ok, He's my kind of man:cute:
