Stolen U2 Tickets Leads to Probation for Portland Man
Ed. Note: Last week we shared this story of a U2 fan who found his stolen U2 tickets on CraigsList. Yesterday, the man who tried to sell those tickets was sentenced.
A Portland man who tried to sell stolen tickets to U2 concert at the Rose Garden in December received 18 months' probation Thursday for his theft conviction.
Last week, a Multnomah County jury found Guy Edwards, 32, guilty of selling the tickets back to the man from whom they were stolen. Edwards told the jury he did not know they were stolen, but a police detective testified that Edwards had acknowledged when he was arrested that he "kinda knew" the tickets were hot.
Edwards decided not to go to the concert and posted a for-sale notice on the Internet market craigslist. The original owner spotted the ad and notified police. -- Anne Saker
