At some point we should put up a pre- B&C Album of the Year thread for discussion. I always like that thread as an opportunity to catch up with good records that I may have missed before the end of the year.

Yes, earlier today I was thinking that I needed some recommendations from this place when I couldn't think of what to listen to.

This weekend is going to be exhausting.

Friday: Anathema and Meniscus
Saturday: Sleepmakeswaves and Rosetta
Sunday: We Lost the Sea, performing a special fifth anniversary show for their debut album, which features vocals by their lead singer who committed suicide (their subsequent albums have been instrumental)

All of them are in Sydney, so each will be about a 3-4 hour round trip for me from Wollongong. But it's for the finest Australian post-rock, plus some good internationals, so I expect it to be worth it.

Surprised you are seeing Anathema as you’ve really disliked their recent output.

I actually don't mind their latest. Best thing they've done since A Natural Disaster and possibly since A Fine Day to Exit. And having Meniscus as support tipped me over the edge, because they own.

But also there's the nagging feeling that what if they play one of the sets they've done recently with the first four songs of Judgement, or with Lost Control and Empty, and I missed it? I wouldn't forgive myself.

How has there been this little movement in RMT and I've been gone over a week?! I guess you're all too busy talking U2?

Anyway, what have I missed here over the past week? What threads do I need to check out? What discussions are going on?

Basically I'm asking can someone please summarise the discussions over the past week so I don't have to go through entire threads

He (Josh) also cut himself in the head with a knife and called the crowd “retards” as mentioned in the article. I guess he is going through things.

Whatshername from the Distillers left Tim Armstrong for him, so I’ve kind of had a weird irrational dislike for him (and all the QOTSA albums after rated R didn’t exactly help) for a while. But wasn’t it another dude from that band we already thought was a dick?
