Hola! :)

This is another hypothetical piece, sort of like my last work, "So They Promised Us A Stolen Land". I think it is definately my best work yet. Hope you enjoy it, and please leave feedback! :)

What If It Didn't Matter?
____________________________

What if the world went a different way,
With a different point of view?
What if we all went about it differently,
Would I still love you?

New ideas and Gospel,
Spread throughout a new world.
If it’s a brand new home,
Then whom do we kneel down before and call the Lord?

Do we love or do we hate?
Is it the former or is it the latter?
I ask you this:
What if it didn’t matter?

Does it matter?

So we build a wall of isolation,
To separate us from the thing we can’t comprehend.
We yell at those with different logic,
And yet, we still so violently defend.

So the wall surrounds only you now,
As you look out through the cracks.
You deny to provide others,
What they still give you in what you lack.

A mother freezing in the streets,
Her son’s face lying in her shirt, all tattered.
I ask you this:
What if it didn’t matter?

Does it matter?

You begin to look away from the grand scheme of things,
And act like no wrongs have been done.
Nobody gets hurt, after all,
If we all act as one.

You solidly construct your wall,
With ego and with skill.
You sometimes hear the echo of a cry,
Though if it be His will.

A sudden car crash,
With the girl lying on the pavement, guts all splattered.
I ask you this:
What if it didn’t matter?

Does it matter?

Karma, love,
And synchronicity.
The things that tie us all together,
Like a band of elasticity.

But they’re human-made ideas,
As you look up at the sky.
You don’t know whether to believe them,
Would they soon be disproven into a lie?

The tugging of the moon,
Balanced by the rings of Saturn.
I ask you this:
What it if didn’t matter?

Does it matter?

You open the window of your wall,
To those who care.
You’ll let them into your heart,
And it’s a wall you will have to share.

Slowly they chip away at the wall,
As you let yourself reach beneath the surface.
You don’t know if you believe in God yet,
For you don’t know whether or not that’s as far as it gets.

The All Divine,
The king and master.
Is He a joker,
Or does it even matter?

Does it matter?
Does it matter?

Your wall is down...
So I think I’m going to ask you right now.
