Have you been watching the Unforgettable Fire video? It is a very beautiful and chilling video for a beautiful and chilling song. The first time I ever heard the song was when I saw the video, and its impact on how I "see" the song will never go away.

This is a beautiful poem, though the sense of despair hurts.

By the way--shouldn't it be "wheels" in the first line?

Simply chilling, i am reading this from a very vulnourable state of mind and it has conjured up some very twisted thoughts indeed. you know what i found funny, the first time i read it i thought you wrote

"Fellow the yellow line down the middle"

Sanity does seem a long ways away from way up here, thank you so much for posting this one, makes me think of "in a little while"...
by the way have you read the lyrics for that song now knowing that it was the last song Joey Ramone ever heard? chilling last rites eh?

Wow, I was totally seeing the UF video in my mind when I read this. That's why I thought it was "wheels"--"the wheels fly and the colours spin..."

But also the carnival, the carousel, and the feeling of a deadly rain--one part in the UF video that really freaks me out is when Bono's face looks like it's melting...

Maybe you were thinking of it subconsciously
