you dream again and try to be real
dreaming only hurts when you're awake

dream a little more
sleep less like a spell

trying to wipe it from your memory

all the thoughts you thought you had
all the dreams you dreamed away

nothing fades like a dream

not just here because you're pretty
not just hear to say the words
not just afraid of what I don't know
not just gone like a day
not just out like a flame

where did you walk to
when the night was still
inside you are the flowers
and the ashes and the pain
nothing dances quite like your flame
nothing caresses the past,
yet trashes it the way you do

and your colours and your shadows
and now we stand in them together
and now we are like the mix of light that sprays the darkness
now we are like the dreams that have no stay

mourning
as the scarry styes
shiver and dim
until it bleeds daylight

off to sleep away these dreams
as they make no sense to any of you
don't try to think of them as me
I die as they suck my life away

do you smile like the flowers at the sun?
maybe it's time you did

the weather is brutal,
this time of year
yet I know it's not so bad
when I see them smile anyway

This poem reminds me of a bird nest. It is made up of stray words from here and there. The closer you get the more you become aware of the strength and symmetry. It was made to house the beginning of new life.
I expect this one could weather any storms that come its way.

This is definitely my favorite of yours so far.

This is beautiful. It reminds me of some lines in Lemon, I think, and that's kind of weird because I have never liked Lemon. At least, I've never liked it as a whole, but I like some of the lyrics, and the "Midnight is where the day begins." So I guess I'll have to listen to it again some time--who knows, maybe I'm meant to like it

oh I love this. Just reading it for the first time. It's funny that scattero mentions Lemon, because I get the feeling of a different song off of the same album: 'Zooropa'... it's highly original stuff, but I get a feel of it probably only due to the fact that I flood myself with U2's music so much, that this is where my parallels are drawn. Take these lines for example:

"you dream again and try to be real
dreaming only hurts when you're awake"

this reminds me of U2's lines:

"She's gonna dream up the world she wants to live in
She's gonna dream out loud"

very good stuff... several months passed and you're still seeping with inspiration
