The Fly
Pondered the Outcomes
I swallowed deeply and followed your perfume
Attitude in the air was weight in the room
A permanent scar that hid my face away
Travelling at night I don't see the light of day
Music was the dancer and photographic was your style
My eyes followed you around mile after mile
When you caught me I was disappearing
Running away from the dread that in my life was nearing
In a hall in a town not far from home
I found you that night dancing all alone
As you leered at the people in this skin gallery
I pondered the outcomes and questioned your salary
"Dance with me" was all I could think
You rested at the bar and sipped at a drink
Scribble numbers with a pen but made a mess of ink
Into my doldrums I felt myself sink
Reaching to me you said "Lets dance"
Holding your hand I gave it a chance
Circumstance suddenly yanked at my arm
My other lover came in and I left your charm
So I moved with her and thought of you
So I talked with them and laughed with you
So I drifted home and wanted you
You at the end of this romance turned blue
