Smile, you're reading my post
coming on new
engulfed by the state in
i feel like my mouth
turned inside out and swallowed my head whole
in turn the blast
cackles at how stupid and pathetic
i could or may come to be
but then i smile at it,
laugh at it
in the face of its truth

guilt washes over my back
like a tide angered rage
i push it away
push it away
with the smiles you gave me
knowing what will come
and what will die
the suddenness of my new day
makes a path to the cliff
from which i'll step and
never look up to again.

I'm reading Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar and it's making me cry. Your poem gives me the same feeling, Manda. The tragic ending really hurts, it's great writing

i feel like my mouth

my teeth hurt from incessant grinding today, probably because I was thinking to much about not grinding them, maybe it will do me some good some day and snap my tongue off

it's not crap, but it is sad to think about what you've written
