The Fly
I wanna bounce off the vibe in Wanderer's ...Stalin, if I may.
Heartless Betrayal
High class with a good course
Developed language and withdrawn anguish
Stood aloof the town with mighty judgement
"Not valuable, not amicable" were your verdicts
Uptown not downtown (heartless)
Upward bound not downward spiral
Upon arrival you betrayed
Entrapped, you entrapped the others
The star was upon your sleeve, your chest too
But not in your heart
Heartless betrayal
Heartless
Within the hell peers sent to heaven
Your soul welcomed the dogs from hell
Opposites in ideology
Privalege embraced disaster
Disemination and seperation
Heartless betrayal
Betrayal
War at end, war in the soul
How are you looked upon?
Amerika welcomed you
Isreal welcomed you
You even fought for its exsistence
And when your son was born
Did you tell him?
Heartless betrayal
You at death's bed, privaleges revoked by senility
Do you remember?
The day you tore the star from your chest to prove a point?
That day your brother died (burned)
That day your mother died (burned)
That day you lover died (burned)
Today my soul died
I read about your
Heartless Betrayal.
***
Often the brutality of war isn't so easily defined as being "good" or "bad". There are blurry lines and grey areas.
In the concentration camps the Nazis often selected Jews to serve as moles within the subcultures that quickly developed. These people were often corrupt and unrighteous. This is a poem about one of them, and his grandson's response upon finding his diary.
