Well, how's this for throwing on the old analysis table...

Friday we talked about my trip and the terrorist threats and my nervousness about flying. He said, "I wouldn't worry about any of that," then when I peeked my head in his cube to say goodbye he turned around and said very sweetly, "Have fun, and be careful." :cute:

Last night I was about ready to fall over on my way out of here, I was so tired. He and I rode the elevator down and he looked tired as well. He asked how the weekend and concert was, I told him we got the front row and I could tell he was happy for me even though he was tired. He said I looked tired, too, and before we parted ways he told me to make sure I could drive home ok.

So cute, so sweet and nice. *insert swoon here*

Now that's the most promising thing I've heard yet!!!

If you had said no...would he have offered to drive you? I think so. He wants to know where you live!

You have to go for it. I think all the signs are there. :)

Well, to think that last year when I was moving he and I talked about it when we were the only ones in my office and when he asked where I didn't want to get too specific. Now I want him to have the street, building, and apartment number burned into his brain! :shifty:

I'm shifting now into my usual "forget it, he's ____, I'm ____, no way will this work, etc." thing and I hate it. I'm trying not to stress over it, but it's quite difficult when there's a good chance of running into him at least once every single day!

I want to ask him if he sang last night, but I'll do it all casual like, like, "Oh, were you going to sing this week?" like I didn't remember which day.

Oi vey, mamma. :der:

Don't get negative!!!

I used to always tell myself that having a crush on Ernie wasn't realistic...that he was a manager, we lived too far apart...and he had even at one point told me the maximum age difference he was willing to go for a girl, and I can't remember what it was, but I didn't make the cut...and we're only 7 years apart. :der: I was so bummed out that night. Now he denies ever saying that. I kind of wonder if he was just trying to get my goat. Well...it worked! :madspit:

Well, I kept listening for any signs he was against office stuff when we talked about the couple that no longer works here, and he said nothing. I am worried about the age thing, though, not so much for me (obviously I've had crushes on men his age for a loooooooong time ;) ) but more for him.

Ask Abby... All weekend I kept saying his, "Have fun and be careful," ad nauseum!

I need a cute cat gif or something in honor of my smitten kitten-ish.

Thanks, btw. :)

So you're not into older men?

actually, i can be.

my current BF is my age, but my first BF was 9 years older than me, and that was mostly a good thing, since i was coming out at the time and was terrified and like a deer in headlights. his experience and comfort with himself allowed me to work out my issues and explore in a very comfortable way, and he was very patient and let me take things at my own pace. also, and not to be too graphic, but sometimes big discrepancies in, say, age or experience or, more importantly, expertise can be hot hot hot ...

:combust:

however, quite seriously, i also thought the age difference was a barrier to having a long lasting relationship (he moved to Florida after almost a year, leaving me heartbroken, but that's another story) as there are some major differences in worldview, life experience, and in goals that can be difficult to surmount.

also, the fact that i was a starving filmmaker (sort of) with only occasional employment while he was the COO of a major hospital and made a solid 6 figure income (and i sooooo miss driving his porsche) was both a good thing -- i could eat, well, and it was fun having to, ahem, "earn" my dinner -- but it also instilled feelings of inadequacy when compared to him.

but that could be a male thing. often, gay couples can be competitive with each other.

i will say, though, that men do age well, though there is something to be said for those 21 year olds who ... well, let's just say that no one was in any sort of need of viagra.

:D

Oooh, Irvine, you're making this girl think naughty things of her "Big Daddy" (his name from my friends; I prefer Bob Harris but BD can be hot, too). :giggle:

I admit feeling a bit taken care of when he told me to be careful and such, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I just need to stop stressing over things... That's really what always ultimately holds me back.

If you guys end up becoming a couple, and he registers here, are we going to have to delete this thread?

Well, some of you may be surprised to find out...

He's not really much of a U2 fan. :uhoh:

But, that's okay... We like a lot of the same bands, and he thinks my obsession is cool (or so he tells me).

Today is a sucky crush day, though...

Feeling kind of invisible. :sigh: Guess I ought to actually concentrate on work, then, eh? :p
