Micrphones above the Pedalboard?

Im not sure if any of you guys have noticed the 2 Microphones above Edges Skrydstrup during the Glastonbury 2011 gig?

Just out of curiosity, what exactly are they for?

He always has the 2 mic. The reason? Maybe enviromental

Yeah, well theres the lights that i can see, but these are definately microphones, i'll take a screen-shot and upload!

Yeah those are shotgun mics. I have no idea what they would be for.

That would make sense, although they look like they're pointed toward the stage instead of the crowd. But who knows.

I'd guess for crowd recording but who knows? Generally a shotgun mic that is setup on stage would be for crowd recording, correct?
