I wonder if the guitarist from spider-man is using the same gear as edge? I know he uses A Gibson Explorer. And I also wonder if bono and edge wrote the drum and bass parts. :hmm:

it does say written by Bono And The Edge!

Written by doesn't mean it was all PLAYED by. The Edge is on some of the guitar tracks but other tracks are played by Zane Carney (Brother of Reeve Carney, who sings the Spiderman parts) and some others (Listed below).

So that said, much of what on the album might have been Edge's ideas for effects but it could be some of what the folks that played guitar have and use.

Reeve and Zane Carney -- the drummer and bass player on the album too...
are actually in a rock band called: Carney. So they have their own gear.

As for Zane, I have seen him with a Gibson Explorer (I'm not sure if it's one of Edge's or even a 1976 Limited Edition).

Bono and Edge wrote the majority of the music but as for the bass and drum parts, they may have been on the demos in drum machine form, Edge could have played some on the demos (he can play drums) or he could have just told the Jon Epcar the basic 'feel' that they were going for.

It will be interesting to hear Edge and Bono talk about these things (the writing and recording of the music) instead of all of the issues with the musical and the departure of Julie Taymor.

Cool article with Steve Lillywhite. Worth a read too.
