Even though I am fully aware the booklet says morning I also hear Morleigh every time

Off topic for just one second, what is required to read the booklet? I have it in iTunes, but I get "can't use this book" on my phones. I assume an iPad or similar reader is required? And if so, damn U2 for giving me free stuff I can't use -- I'll have to go Tweet my displeasure and hate for all the world to see

This one is killing me..

"The world is spinning fast tonight
You can hurt yourself tryin’ to hold on
To what you used to be
I’m so glad the past is all gone?"

All I hear is, "I'm so glad the pasty's all gone" (as in Cornish Pasty).

How can you glad when the pasty is all gone, always makes me sad. Delicious!

Me too! Had forgotten about that one LOL.

You are Rocky Road? lol.

On Cedarwood Rd, I hear "Over green and over gold...". It's minor but thought I'd mention.

When I first listened to the album in full, I wasn't paying attention to the song titles (clearly)... I took "Up on Cedarwood, Cedarwood Road" to be "See the world, see the world roll."

Iris
Something in your ass, took a thousand years to get here
Something in your ass, took a thousand years, a thousand years

I know the words, but I still hear and sing that:)

No disrespect to the Bman btw.

LOL! That reminds me of "your ass makes a circle... I see you when I go in there".

Now, every time I hear Volcano, I am hearing this (in addition to "The pasty's all gone" and "You and I are Rocky Road!"):

You don't wanna, you don't wanna know
F-- ... king ... know

In California's "Santa Barbara, santa barbara",
I keep mistaking it for "Bu bu bubble wrap, sitting on bubble wrap, bu bu bubble wrap, sitting on bubble wrap"

This one is also from California...

"Well, that's what took me where I need to be
Which is here, out on Zuma
Watching you cry like a baby"

That middle line sounded like "which is here, Aloezuma" to me.... my google searches for "Aloezuma":reject: yielded no results...

I don't know if this counts as "misheard"

I searched the lyrics of EBW and it said "Baby, every doubt of history"

On a U2 Chile Facebook fan page someone put up the lyrice "Baby every dog on the street", and I laughed and told her she was wrong... but then I went to look up the SOI PDF file... :|

Really?
"Every dog on the street" ?????

I know that "every doubt of history" sounds weird, but it made more sense to me

Of course I deleted the reply

In California I originally heard the opening as literally repeating the Beach Boys:

"Bar, Bar, Barbara Ann, Santa Barbara
Bar, Bar, Barbara Ann, Santa Barbara
Bar, Bar, Barbara Ann, Santa Barbara
Bar, Bar, Barbara Ann, Santa Barbara"
etc.

Also: "Witches here, Montezuma" -- or "Witch is here, Montezuma"

And lately I'm hearing this: "Words can scare a fallen leaf." LOL. For the life of me I cannot hear the lyric as written, "Words can scare a thought away" -- it sounds to me clearly like "fallen leaf."

Bizarrely, I keep hearing "Baby, every dollar bill we steal." LOL. I actually prefer that to "every dog on the street" which is a real clunker of a lyric (one of the very few on this album BTW).

Volcano

Something in your mouth to blow

I swear he says that. It does not sound like "wants to blow" at all!

I've heard that since the first time I listened to the album. :giggle:

And tbh, I find myself singing that lyric instead of the printed one...makes me wonder if the printed lyric is intentionally wrong. :hmm:

At first I thought it was "Somebody stepped beside your soul" for the Lykki Li part in The Troubles. ?

I thought it was "Somebody stepped inside your soul," which actually sounds kind of deep and cool.

I've always thought that's what it was....I had no idea that wasn't the right lyrics.

I have Ms YBOR convinced on EBW:

"Every dog on our street knows we're in love with defeat."

Aside from the minor inaccuracies, again, what is wrong with this? "Every single dog on the street, knows that we're in love with defeat"...

I think people aren't reading the title of this thread and just quoting actual lyrics.
