cant remember the last time U2 actually spontaniously improvised in the middle of a song. muscially, not counting "snippets".
 
11 O'Clock Tick Tock - Hampton 1987-12-19 - The only time this was performed on the JT tour, but it's a great version; the solo ends on a more sorrowful, melancholic note. Really nice.

I believe this is actually 12-1987
 
There's an example on one of the Dublin 1989 shows where - I think (and can't remember which show) - Bono did seem to try to draw out his harmonica playing but Larry didn't play ball and launched straight into All Along The Watchtower. Can anyone confirm or am I imagining things?
