Who have you seen in concert ?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Okay I haven't seen many people but here's my list

Arlo Guthrie (3x)
Billy Joel
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Flickerstick
Our Lady Peace (2x)
Matchbox 20 (2x)
Weezer
U2 (4x) (opening acts Garbage and Stereophonics)
Stereophonics (separate from when they opend for u2)

I have to agree with oliveu2cm that Matchbox Twenty is a great band but they hold no comparison to U2 live.
Our Lady Peace is the only ones that have come close plus sometimes Raine sings u2 songs snipets.

WOW, great list of bands everybody!!

Metallica
Rush
Eric Clapton
Deep Purple
Sepultura
The Hellacopters
Kiss

I haven?t seen many but I'm very lucky cause I saw some really big and amazing people perform right in front of my eyes. I actually saw Deep Purple playing Smoke On The Water.... Amazing shows from all of those bands. I?m going to NYC in July so I'll go to Ozzfest so I'll watch Judas Priest maybe Slayer and most definitely the godfather of Metal OZZY!!!!! I'm so excited cause apparently Black Sabbath is supposed to join him on stage to play half the set or something!!!!!! I can't believe I just might see BLACK SABBATH playing!!!! :hyper: :hyper:

this thread makes me jealous.

I really, really want to see Prince this summer. However, I procrastinated too long and the only dates I can possibly go to have only expensive tickets left, and I'm poor.

 When?! Where?! :hyper:

I've seen Queen 3 times in concert. It would have been in the late 70's and early 80's in Vancouver (where I live). Somewhere I have pictures that I took at one of the concerts.

They were an incredible live band - one of the very first that I fell in love with.

They were a fantastic live band - As Roger once said, Freddie could communicate with the back row of a full Wembley :D

They were the first band I was completely fanatic with, too  While all my friends was listening to and falling in love with Take That, Backstreet Boys and whatever in the middle '90's I listend to Queen and had posters of Freddie hanging in my room!

... but due to several different reasons I stopped buying videos, books etc and don't listen to them anymore (but I have all the cd - and you can play the intro of *any* of their songs and I can sing the entire song - they never leave... Its the funniest things you remember! )

The first time I saw Queen play live we were on the floor right in front of the very high stage. At the end of the show Freddie threw out pink carnations into the crowd - I caught one.

Pink carnations are still my favourite flower.

I'm bringing this thread topic back from the dead:

my list:
band then year then grade (yes, I can recall it)
I'm probably missing a few bar band shows...

Phil Collins '94 B (sigh, yeah, I know, my first concert was Phil. So sue me. In the air tonight still rocked.)
Live '94 B-
Weezer '94 B+
Fatima Mansions '94 B+
Phil Collins '97 B-
U2 '97 A+ (Popmart introduced me to huge stadium shows and my now favorite band)
Rolling Stones '97 A- (sat in the back in St. Louis and it was still good, beautiful stage)
Eric Clapton '98 B+
Rolling Stones '98 A (Mick hit my wife with a water cup, that was the highlight for her. :)
Jonny Lang ‘98 B
Sarah McLachlan ‘98 A (best slow song I ever heard live, Angel, in a tiny theatre in Kansas City)
Bruce Springsteen '00 A+
Billy Joel '99 A-
Shallow '99 B-
Lilith Fair ‘99 A- (took my sister, not bad at all. Indigo Girls, Dixie Chicks, Sheryll Crow, Sarah Mclachlan)
Cibo Matto '00 A+ (blew my socks off, what a kick they were!)
Jonny Lang ‘00 C+ (crowd sucked...worse crowd ever!)
Bare Naked Ladies '00 A- (I don’t love them, but they are a laugh a minute live)
Guster '00 A-
Lionel Ritchie/Tina Turner '00 B+
Sting ‘00 B - (delivery was just too perfect, he needs to lighten up)
Dave Matthews Band ‘00 A- (bartender was highlight)
Indigo Girls ‘ 00 C- (took up too much time with being preachy)
Live/Counting Crows ‘01 C+
PJ Harvey / U2 (Denver) '01 A
Elton John/Billy Joel '01 B (too much of a greatest hits show, and the crowd sucked!!!)
PJ Harvey / U2 (Chicago) '01 A++ (almost the best show I ever saw, and I met Bono at a party!!)
Bruce Springsteen '02 A+++ (best show I ever saw, played five tour premires at our show, and might I add that this guy isn’t human) :)
Man or Astro Man '02 B+
Dave Matthews Band ‘02 B- (off show for them)
Schwag ‘02 C- yuck
blind boys of alabama / Peter Gabriel ‘02 A+ (you’ve never seen anything like this guy and his toys)
Ben Folds '03 A- (ben is a laugh riot)
Adam and His Package ‘03 A-
Coldplay '03 B+ (good show, but too darn short at only 85 minutes)
Chicago / Earth Wind and Fire ‘04 C- (my mom-in-law made me go!!! I’m sure they were good once apon a time, but I got a greatest hits only vibe that creeped me out.)
Ben Folds/Guster '04 A-

Let’s see... what else...

I saw three songs of No Doubt opening for U2 at the second Denver show. Then my now wife passed out (on the railing of inside of the heart) because of a sudden horrid freak case of altitude sickness and we spent the evening at the hospital instead of at the show. Very scary night. Definately my worst concert.

Oh, and four operas. Tosca is the best. See it if you get the chance to see a good rendition.

that is a great list tkramer

That is awful about what happened to your wife at the U2 show

I have a friend who saw Chicago not too long ago, and he had pretty much the same reaction you did :(

I saw Springsteen last month, and you're right, he isn't human  After the first three or four songs, I felt like saying,"Um Bruce, can you maybe take a break, maybe just a 2 second pause so I can catch my breath . . ."
