One word... Bononeck....

Actually, make that two: Bonomoans...

:combust:

Funny/embarrasing story. Was hanging out with friends last week. For no particular reason other than we were listening to HTDAAB while enjoying a nice meal, I said out loud.

"Do you know that by adding the word Bono to any word you can instantly make it better?"

*silence all around*

"For example. Bonolove, Bononeck, Bonoporn, Bonosleeves..."

At that point I noticed the looks on my co-dinners and decided it was best to shut up for the time being :|

 that's great. No, the outsiders don't understand... one time my friend Cody (who I think is kinda cute) had his sleeves down to his fingers and I squealed "Eeeee! Bonosleeves!" and got treated with a :eyebrow: so I explained what I meant, and he just gave me a defiant look and rolled up his sleeves. :|

Okay. A few things:

1. Downloaded the songs from iTunes (and loaded them onto my BRAND NEW U2 IPOD THAT I JUST GOT TODAY :hyper: ) and the boys sound great. Sounds like they had everything down perfect.

2. I don't think anyone else could be so sexy while eating pizza. I wonder how Bono would feel if he knew that hundreds of girls are drooling over photos of him eating pizza. But that one where he's licking his fingers... that's too much...that...that...I've been readingh too much yaoi manga

3. Bono going commando - I'm not gonna go there. That could lead to discussion of now-forbidden topics.

4. Bono looks sexy as hell of course, but the other boys are lookin' wonderful as well... I think Larry de-aged. Seriously. On the HTDAAB DVD he was FINALLY starting to actually show some age, but it went away. He's like 20 again. Adam, on the other hand, is showing age but looking damn good with it. And Edge...Edge is SO adorable. I wanna hug him forever  and his guitar rawks.

5. Congrats to all who were there, I'm insanely jealous :D to be that close to Bono...I can only hope, this tour...

6. Thank you so much to EVERYONE who posted all these pics, they're great! And a good way to pass the time as I load my Velvet Underground boxset onto iTunes...

Seajewel, I ordered the dvd from the same guy Miroslava ordered hers from. I went back to my email folders and since I received my dvd, I deleted all the correspondence, so I don't have his addy anymore, but I am sure Miroslava does...

It was $18 s&h included. I was impressed with it (but I don't have that much prior dealings with bootlegs). Looking at footage from u2exit.com and u2 preservation on the net, it is really good. The concert starts with the guys coming over the bridge. There are a few shakey times and one camera dropping moment, but other than that, I was happy! Lots of zooms and closeups and the audio was good. Like I said, It is great to relive it since I was so loopy during the actual show. :) If I had a dvd burner, I'd help u out and get u a copy of mine.

HEY- I just went back to an earlier post. This is where I got it:
texegg6@yahoo.com
I am sure this is him. When I emailed him here he requested all further correspondance be through some smoky-something@ aol.com
but I cannot remember that specific addy. That texegg one should get u there though. :)

That is indeed the seller! I was pretty happy with the concert. Audio is pretty good! I also don't have much experience with bootlegs, but this is infinitely better than the other footage that has been floating around the net.

So ree, what did you think of the Sometimes... siiiiiiiiing? Still think Bono got helped on the Jammed edit?

I am telling you, the man nailed it. I might have forgotten lots of details of the show in my stupor, but that I definitely remembered and the video proved it. :)

Maybe it was sound quality, but Jammed "siiiiing" sounds a bit better than bootleg. It was raspier---raspy ier----I sort of like it that way though.

I am still on a high. I suppose I think of all of it daily! My husband is getting tired of it though. :( Nothing like great a great girlfriend and u guys to keep my enthusiasm alive!

Well of course quality overall is better on Jammed, comes from soundboard and it is filtered and all that good stuff but didn't you seem think that he didn't hit the note at all during the show? :eyebrow:

That was crazy talk brought on by brain overload  Can't blame you, god knows I forgot plenty... my brain's way of protecting itself from going up in flames... I still have ZERO recollection of Edge singing during Miracle Drug

No wonder you are arguing for the siiiing part. He NAILED that--you are so right! I had the wrong part in my head the whole time.

The part he has trouble hitting is not "sing' that is ALWAYS awesome. I was getting it confused with this at the end:

"best you can do is to fake it...."

The really high part.

That had some assistance on the mtv version, I thought. I like it raspy. I think it is cool that he is pouring his soul out. I love this song with Miracle Drug coming in a close second. :)

I remeber him singing a note where evenone {including me}clapped/cheered after he held a particular note very srongly & long?
Was it that note or another later/ even in a different song?.

I just don't remember which song, I was too busy trying to stay on my tip-toes in order to either take photos of them, or just to be able to see them closer through my telephotos lens.

My sis has taped Jammed for me on my tape, so after I get to see it at her house {over Christmas} i can them take it home with me :drool:

But I could eventually save up the money from the Bridge DVD...
would you [who ever even closer than I was there] recommend that. If so why. What's special on the dvd that isn't on the Jammed thing?

I would assume 1) no commercials  & 2) it had all of the concert vs what Jammed left out? {good enough reasons  :applaud: }. Please enlighten me :D Thanks*~

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiing during Sometimes is when everyone cheered. It was that good.

I would highly recommend the DVD to anyone that was there. I would recommend it even if you weren't there, just not as enthusiastically. The DVd has footage of when the band went over the Manhattan Bridge, has the entire set list and all the stories in between. Camera work is at times shakey of course but well worth it. Guy was standing atop a milk crate by the crane over on Edge's side. Not a whole lot of audience head interference.

Audio quality is pretty good. Audience level is surprisingly low. Like Ree and I, seems like your brain was not capable of retaining EVERYTHING about the show, so it is definitely worth it for the fans that were there.

Yes the siiiiiiiiing when (right b4 you're the reason the opera is in me...) was the chilll bump time. I remember that. Why I thought that when someone mentioned "siiiing' I internalized it to mean "fake it". Miroslava, NO WONDER U thought I was crazy. I kept wondering, "why can she not see that?????" I was on the wrong part! That was fantastic. I was getting my times mixed up. The fake it part was the part I was talking about.

I so cannot believe it has been a month.

I recommend it for like Miroslava said. I enjoyed hearing his "stories" again. I even totally forgot about a song or two he sang. It is like reliving the moment.

Thanks guys! I will be getting in touch with that guy - really want to relive that experience it was the best!! - HAPPY HOLIDAYS !

thanks miro & ree for your input!

I thought it might have been SYCMIOYO, but wasn't sure at all!

I've been so busy, concentrating on different mostly happy, a few really annoying things i want/or have to do, so it actaully in a way feels longer than a month!
Wow, only a month ago...wow..they were here...It was one of the best, yeah, from the guys! :applaud:

First for me is getting my B&W film done of the pre- concert [incuding their glorious Manhattan Bridge "entrance"} photos and conert itself photos done at a pro's lab. The negs might need some speicial handling so it's all going to cost MORE than your drop at the drugstore photo develop/finishing outfit!

I was on Edge's side a bit more than a 45 degree angle to the stage. but i really like three-quarter face photos. I have a few of Bono and Edge at the m mike together, and then bono center photo with the others at one side or the other.

And Bono was closest to me & our area when he came over right in the middle, in front of the speakers stack to get the flag. Through my telephoto when he went to reach for it...it was like i was just abit back from the 'railing' in front of the stage.. I can't remeber if I had finished my film-- who expected him to do THAT  at a relatively short concert- if i already ran out then i was just looking through the teles to see him closer!

I definATELY WILL TRY and spring for the DVD then, by oh, mid-Jan or early Feb..

you should have lots of familiarity with this video if u were there then (more on Edge's side). it is worth it. if for nothing else than to show your grandkids and say I was there!!!!! Can't wait to see your pics. hope they turn out well. :)

thanks
I'm really, Really, REALLY hoping that they come out! It's the first time i ever got close enough to u2 at a show to take them & where they [concert people] said cameras without flash WOULD be allowed! I'd taken mine with me anyway.

In summer 2001 I snuck my pro camera in in pieces. I put it together after the huose lights went down. I was about 30 yrd away, in the seats behind the stage, but i knew they'd aleast turn enough for profile and of course [because i had been in the behind the stage seats for the JT tour] I knew Bono would definately turn around to face the face the crowd behind him.

So I took a whole roll....but it came back totally bLANK!:scream: It seems for all the decades I've had this camera- this wasa the ONLY time i spooled in the lead tab and it didn't take up on the advance spool, and I didn't realize it!

THEN when it was the post 9-11 NYC show- I didn't dare :uhoh: :shifty: to even TRY to sneak in this same camera in pieces with ALL that security at The Garden!:madspit:

And those were the "best' seats I'd ever had till brkln-- [we're speaking in relative terms here] in the mid-first ring about ?20 'rows' back on Edge's side fron the Tip of The Heart.

Since i have no idea how lucky i'll be for this tour! I'm really praying that these photos will be good.

If we end up on the All Because of You Video I may drop dead... I was under the impression it was going to be just truck footage, but now I don't know...

COULD I BE SMILING ANY BIGGER???? You look like you are about to implode with excitement, and I look like my face is going to pop with such a H U G E smile. That is so freaking priceless. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

WOW...just when I think all of it is over, it keeps on cropping up and makes me giddy all over again.

Well, from the look of it, Bono must have been standing RIGHT THERE since all those people behind me are reaching out... Why in the hell I am not is not clear...

a) I think I was trying to look semi-cool (complete failure)

and/or

b) My head was threatening to blow up....

And yay, glad to hear you were smiling... wasn't sure if you were laughing, crying or both!

Well, I actually hate to admit it, but I was sort of thinking that I was smiling and crying at the same time. Which, I have to say to be truthful, I did quite a bit of the time. :) At the time, I was conscienclely (sp?) thinking, "Marie....this is it. This is really a once in a lifetime moment...absorb it all & enjoy". That is why I was so quiet before the concert began. I was really introspective...quite the opposite of me. I truly had the time of my life.

But, you are right. I think:
A) You looked cool....
B) I was smiling/crying...my mouth looks a bit grimaced for just a really big smile. :)

It is okay. It shows my adoration for my guys! (one in particular ;))
