last round, exit got the boot.

the votes:
exit - 2
spanish eyes - 1

this survivor is in many ways the same as previous survivors. you will be voting off your least favourite out of all songs listed. however, this will be done by email only. any votes made in here or by any other method will not be counted.

as for voting, please pick your least favourite out of the following list. when deciding your vote, please base it off the studio recording. no live songs are allowed (aside from two shots of happy, one shot of sad). if the song is a remix, it will be stated. otherwise, assume we are going off the original studio release.

the songs:
one tree hill
spanish eyes

please mail all votes to u2survivor@gmail.com - please put the round (or something similar) in the title of the email so i'll know which round you're voting for. that's the only requirement for the email. well, that and obviously i need to know what you want voted off! and this should go without saying, but only one email per person. if i find out someone is using multiple email addresses (and i can find out) in each round, all votes you submitted for the round will be null and void. if i see continued abuse, i will disqualify all your votes. i hope this won't happen though!

also, while i would prefer you not post in this thread to say what you voted, it's not forbidden or anything. i would just like the voting to stay as impartial as possible.

Funny how the person who complained about the results not being representative of "popular opinion" evidently did not even vote.

btw, you guys are fucking mental  spanish eyes over exit?

Wey hey hey!

If we were going by live, I'd take Exit over Spanish Eyes, but studio, I slightly favour Spanish Eyes. Either way, I'm happy three of my top five songs from the JT sessions made the top three (the top five, in order, being OTH, Spanish Eyes, Luminous Times, RHMT, Exit).

wait, you're voting on studio tracks? i thought we were supposed to pick a version out of a hat!

Well, I was originally voting on the basis of the version on the most obscure bootleg I'm hoarding!

Rare show not even in the U2gigs database where they played EVERY song, including those not yet written!

And I'm not trading it with you commoners.

how was the 1983 version of every breaking wave?
much better since it doesn't have the vocals bono recorded yesterday immediately after the show but not before he got falling down drunk so his vocals were all grainy and he couldn't even hit a single note.

oh, and no vocals:
every breaaaaking waaave
every sand castle you maaaaaake
every shell you break
every sand grain you rake
i'll be missing notes

two songs = common :panic:

you're definitely an interference member :D

Shit, how did you find out? I've been devoting my life to making sure nobody else ever hears this bootleg, because its rarity makes me feel like a big man!

Oh, and in my own opinion, Every Breaking Wave absolutely kills this early version of Mercy.

And the encore features the original One and it's actually GOOD! Bono sings about numeracy.
