I wish the Phillies had people in the bullpen they could ask this question about.
No spoken words said:That being said, they need to get out of the first fucking round of the playoffs this season.
John Lackey said:Looks to be pretty much a lock that the Angels will travel to Boston for the ALDS. Yankees at Cleveland. Only thing left to be determined is home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
No spoken words said:Should Joba go back to being a starter next season?

How is it a lock exactly? Cleveland leads Boston by a half game for the best record and the #1 seed, and if they finish with identical records, Boston wins the tiebreaker. If Boston is the #1 seed, they play Cleveland while the Angels play the Yankees.
Nate Dogg said:The Phillies seem to be following the usual late season script to a tee. This is where the Rockies take over. Fuck.
They've lost two in a row now.DaveC said:
Dude, they lost 1 game.

I remember Boston caught a lot of flak for painting the World Series logo on the Fenway grass the day of the 2003 ALCS Game 7 (which may or may not have been ordered by MLB). But this takes the cake.

i'm now 1-7 in games i've gone to after last night... 1-9 if you go back to the playoffs last year. before this 10 game stretch i hadn't seen a met loss in person in about 5 years. i'm obviously the black kiss of death, and i need to take one for the team.
they shall now commence winning. or just keep losing and back their way into the playoffs.
the national league! last team to lose wins!

They are now 2 outs from clinching the Wild Card.
I'm pleased. I'll watch the post-game show and enjoy it for a bit.
