It sounds like there are trust issues as well as “what will the neighbors think” issues.

I hope you can figure out a solution so that you can do the things you love.

Only speaking for me, but I generally trust the people I know. I expect people to be who they say they are and do what they say they will do, and expect the same in return.

However, betray/take advantage of that trust, and you are dead to me.

I’m happy my husband is coming with because, 1) he likes U2 enough and has seen several shows with me and enjoys them, 2) he’s interested in The Sphere itself, 3) he’s never been to Vegas before. So, win-win all around.

We’re turning it into a long weekend and open to non-gambling suggestions (def want to see a Cirque show) and even a day trip somewhere.

Booked a hotel yesterday and am probably buying my flight shortly here. Will probably fly in on Friday to see if there's a way to attend the show that night, before I head to the one I'm already down for on Saturday.

Hoping it works out for most everyone here. It's all coming up shortly!

In my case it has nothing to do with trust and/or what will the neighbors think, but moreso my complete lack of understanding as to what makes the female mind tick.

It's a definite "it's not you, it's me" type situation.

I suppose heterosexuality has its challenges.

HAHAHA This quote is great! Like Headache said, I struggle with understanding the female mind, and learn something new everyday.

in my situation I think there is a lot of the “what will the neighbors think?” Mentality with my wife. 2 years ago I went on a guys trip to Vegas. Nobody cheated on their wife, and nobody broke the bank at the casino. We were just some guys looking to blow off some steam after a year of Covid restrictions. My wife’s friends said “YOU LET HIM GO TO VEGAS??? “. My own mother wouldn’t speak to me for weeks , telling me how selfish I was. My wife didn’t even so much as ask “did you have fun?” That is the only time in 15 years of marriage that I’ve spent more than 1 night away from my family,.

So yeah, that’s fun. These shows aren’t going to happen for me, I’ve got to accept it. And for no other reason than “my wife won’t let me”.

Sad, even your mom!!

Yea I don't have that problem. It's Vegas, not Gomorrah.

Right? I find Vegas to be very PG-13. Sure, people illegally participate in prostitution, but that happens everywhere. Lots of people get drunk and hook up, but that happens everywhere. I've had wilder nights in Columbus, Ohio in my 20's.

There's a stigma about Vegas that is very outdated.

I'm gonna keep looking for tickets for any of the December shows. I'd rather not pay for the $400-500 tickets. I feel like as we get closer any unsold tickets will come down in price.

I am being shunned by my family not because of Vegas but because I'll be at the same place at the same time as Headache.

Patriarchy hurts men, too.

The city is whatever you want it to be. There is no doubt a lot of opportunity to get into a lot of trouble if you so desire. But, to your point, you can do that anywhere. The idea that you'd only go to Vegas to do coke off a stripper's ass is terribly outdated.

My wife takes work trips all the time w/o me. And I'm going to Vegas for U2 and she's going to Atlanta for Butch Walker Marvelous 3 concert.

The worry is not about cheating or having fun -- it's only about spending money and leaving one of us alone with the kids so long we go crazy. I wanted to go to 2 concerts, but I feel guilty about spending money we could spend on the kids college or some shit like that. So I'll probably only go to 1 show in the end.

No one wants to fuck me in Vegas, NYC, CT or MA. Actually my wife still does want to fuck me, but I'm too fat and I'm bad at it. Now that you're all depressed, I want you to imagine that my belly is the size of the sphere and my penis is the size of this font.

Poor woman. She deserves some big dick.

Love,
Clerks
